Hexisracing-2013-EN.Pdf Every year since 2005 Hexis Racing has finished in the top 3 in a championship. The team clinched its first international title in 2009 when it won the FIA GT3 European Championship. The following year Hexis Racing again created a stir as hardly had it reached the top level in grand touring racing when it filled the runner-up spot in the FIA GT1 World Championship! And in 2011, the French squad helped the marvellous Aston Martin DBR9 to end its career on a high note by clinching the world title after a mind-blowing campaign of incredible sporting intensity and suspense. In 2012, the team took up another huge challenge as it was entrusted with giving the McLaren MC4-12C its debut at the topmost level in GT. Yet again Hexis Racing lived up to its reputation. Although the team did not win a title (it lost the drivers’ by a point!) it was the most combative on the grid as it set the records for the number of pole positions, fastest race laps and victories! The 2012 season ended with a string of well-deserved successes. Hexis Racing dominated its rivals in the final round of the world championship at Donington, scored its first endurance win in Navarra and rounded off the year with victory in the streets of Baku in the first City Challenge. At the start of 2012, Hexis Racing entered a new era by linking its destiny to the McLaren GT. This relationship brings together one of the greatest names in motor sport: McLaren Racing - winner of 20 Formula 1 World titles (drivers and teams combined) - and Hexis Racing team, the 2011 FIA GT1 World Champion. The McLaren MP4-12C GT3 was launched in 2011. The car is full of Formula 1 technology. No other GT3 racer in 2012 is based on a carbon fibre chassis. It is powered by a 3.8-litre McLaren V8 twin turbo engine and most of the setups have been fine-tuned by tests in the McLaren Racing F1™ simulator. It has received several evolutions to begin its 2013 campaign where it finished the previous one – on the topmost step of the podium! For 2013, Hexis Racing has decided to turn over a new leaf and conquer new territory, while providing its partners with opportunities that dovetail with their communications strategy. At international level it has entered a 100% pro driver line-up in the five rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series. This dream team consists of McLaren GT works drivers, Alvaro Parente and Alexander Sims, backed up by Stef Dusseldorp who has already racked up eight victories with the French squad! Their target is the 2013 title and outright victory in the 65th Spa 24 Hours. The flagship event of the championship is also the blue riband race for grand touring cars. Hexis Racing will tackle it with a second McLaren whose mission is to win the Pro-Am category. The 2011 world championship winning team is also determined to clinch its first title at national level in the GT Tour (FFSA GT French Championship) in which it has entered two driver line-ups that are well capable of fighting at the front. In particular, Hexis Racing and its partners can count on the experience, speed and image of Olivier Panis, winner of the 1996 F1 Monaco Grand Prix, who will team up with Eric Debard, 2009 French champion. Laurent Cazenave and Jean-Claude Police, who have racked up six wins in the championship between them, will share the team’s second MP4-12C.     2011 Presentation 2011 TEAM INFORMATION MANUAL www.gt1world.com 1 PRESENTATION OF THE 2011 SEASON Introduction One championship, one category, 28 cars and 8 brands represented on a single grid. Now in its sixth year the FIA GT3 European Championship has continued to attract teams and drivers from across the world resulting in large grids and action packed racing. Although present in all the major national GT Championships, the GT3 pinnacle remains the FIA GT3 European Championship. A championship for the latest generation of sportscar; with few modifications allowed from the road-going models, their performance is balanced using the techniques developed and proven in the FIA GT Championship and its successor the FIA GT1 World Championship. Each model should be represented by a minimum of 2 cars (usually for new models) and a maximum of 6 cars, entered by two car teams. The FIA GT3 European Championship is reserved for non-professional drivers and an overall title is awarded for Drivers and Team champions. The fastest Champion driver receives a €150,000 prize-fund and up to 40 sets of Michelin tyres to move up to the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2012. Steady progress with makes… Eight makes will be represented this season on the FIA GT3 European Championship grid, with the welcome addition of the Ferrari 458 Italia and Mercedes- Benz SLS AMG GT3 and the possible inclusion of the recently launched McLaren GT later this year or for the 2012 season. 2011, another unique and exiting season to look forward to it.     GT NEWS NEWSLETTER nr 9 - 25th MAY 2007 RACING IN THE STREETS ! SCUDERIA PLAYTEAM SARAFREE AND AF CORSE MOTOROLA CONQUER BUCHAREST ! Bucharest city centre was transformed into a race circuit over the weekend of May 17th - 20th, with a 3.111 km circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, circumnavigating the gigantic Romanian parliamentary buildings. Despite rain, 69,000 spectators turned up over the weekend to watch the FIA GT Championship, the FIA GT3 European Cham- pionship, the Lloyds TSB Insurance British Formula Three International Series and the Logan Dacia Cup. They were treated to a spectacular FIA GT race, which only saw one safety car period despite heavy rain, resulting in a fine win for Scuderia Playteam Sarafree’s Maserati MC 12 of Bertolini and Piccini in GT1. The Italian duo finished nearly 40 seconds ahead of the All-Inkl.com Lamborghini Murciélago of Christophe Bouchut and Stefan Mücke. Having already won in Zhuhai, Bouchut and Mücke thus reclaimed the lead of the GT1 Drivers Championship. Third went to Vitaphone Racing team, with the nr 2 Maserati MC 12 of Christian Montanari and Miguel Ramos, both of whom claimed their first-ever FIA GT podium finishes. Alvaro Parente, Stef Dusseldorp and Alexander Sims will be gunning for outright victory and the Pro-Cup title, the top category in the championship. The team also announced that it would enter a second McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in the Spa 24 Hours, the Blancpain’s blue riband event, to win the Pro-Am category. Its crew will combine the brilliance of platinum, the purity of gold, the flash of silver and the robustness of bronze! By putting together a line- up consisting of Olivier Panis, Côme Ledogar, Laurent Cazenave and Eric Debard, Hexis Racing team manager, Philippe Dumas, has created an ideal alloy between the different grades of drivers among the combinations allowed by the category regulations. In long-distance events in the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Pro-Am category is the one with the highest number of starters. In the 2012 Spa 24 Hours it attracted 39 cars or almost 60% of the total number of entries. The skills of the drivers are one of the most important factors to guarantee success, and this is why Dumas is particularly happy to be able to count on such a well-balanced second line- up. “As it’s a long race the main aim is to finish.
