Qualification and professional career I am a nurse, with specialization in medical-surgical nursing and old people nursing, at Nursing School of Lisbon and a Pharmaceutical Science degree at the University of Lisbon. I am master in Epidemiology (MEPI) at National School of Public Health, Nova University Lisbon. I completed my PhD in Nursing - “Adherence medication in the older people, in the community: effectiveness of nursing Interventions” at the University of Lisbon in 2011, with Individual Doctoral Grants of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (the Portuguese Public Agency that supports science). I have competence of leadership and management “Course of High Direction in Public Administration 2004/2005 (CADAP) – National Institute of Administration – 2004 and Advanced Program of Management for Pharmacists 2003/2004 (PAGEF) - Catholic Portuguese University – Faculty of Economical Sciences and Business. Since 1988, I have been a full professor in nursing Escola Superior de Enfermagem, Lisbon, Portugal. I am teaching on bachelor, masters and PhD-level in my High School. On bachelor, I am teaching pharmacology. On master level, I am responsible for the teaching epidemiology and health care of old people with chronic disease and on the PhD-level, I am teaching research methods, including mixed method, development and evaluation complex intervention and development a research project. I have supervised two graduated PhDs and currently I have ten PhD-students under my supervision. I have supervised many Masters Students since 2012. I am also a member of the Scientific Committee of Nursing in the University of Lisbon, who support the Doctoral Program in Nursing and professor for nursing research, since 2012. I am an expert member of Nursing of the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education – A3ES, Portugal, since 2016. I was a member of Public Health Group– The Directorate General of Health – Portugal-2015-2016 I was Coordinator - Master of Community Nursing, Nursing School of Lisbon – Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa (2010 –2016). I was President of Scientific Technical Council of the Escola Superior de Enfermagem, Lisbon, Portugal (2014-2018). I was a visiting professor (2016-2018) in the University of MIndelo- Cape Verde Africa and coordinator the Community Nurse Master in Cape Verde, Africa. I was vice-president of Escola Superior de Enfermagem Artur Ravara, Lisbon, Portugal (2000-2007). I was Co- director of Course of Higher Education Adult and Elderly with Chronic Disease 2000-2001). I was Coordinator - Master Medical-Surgery Nursing, Elderly people. Lisbon Nursing School – Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa (2009) From 1981-1988, I worked full-time as a hospital staff nurse in Lisbon. I had a Professional Honor: Nursing services – Air Force Hospital -1986. Research interests I am Nurse Researcher in the Instituto de Saúde Ambiental (ISAMB) - Faculty of Medicine – University of Lisbon (evaluation 2020-2013 - very good) since 2015- My research fields are concentrated in following topics: nursing caring for older people with chronic disease specifically adherence medication, falls, self-management, development and evaluation of complex interventions; educational nursing research and nursing leadership. Recently, I have a new topic, e-Nursing. I have published scientific publications, have national, international, and multidisciplinary collaboration and have been involved in EU-funded consortiums: • Transition care”Medication Management by Older People in Transition from Hospital to Home. Development and Feasibility of Nursing Interventions”. • Replication the RightTimePlaceCare Consortium (WP5), in Portugal • eNURSING: Health literacy and monitoring health status of older people with type 2 diabetes; Health care accessibility for dependent old people and family at home; Cardiac rehabilitation for patients awaiting cardiac surgery; Continuity of care in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. • To prevent falls in the institutionalized elderly. • Vaselfcare –Virtual assistant to facilitate self-care of older people with type 2 diabetes.
