WelcomeSweet to Pea Festival 2021 They say, “Hindsight is 2020.” I think we’re all just glad to have 2020 in the rear view mirror. I’d like to give the Sweet Pea board a big shout-out for planning a great festival this year, while not knowing if we’d actually be able to celebrate. Many hours of thought and discussion brought us to this point. Our executive director, Kris did a fantastic job finding grants to keep the organization going through a very tough year. Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who make Sweet Pea happen.
Now, sit back, relax in the shade of a big old spruce tree in Lindley Park, smell the sweet pea flowers that inspired this signature gathering, listen to kids laughing, and enjoy the magic of our amazing musicians, artists, dancers and all the activities that make Bozeman such a special place in the summer. Welcome! Dave Crawford Sweet Pea Board President Havin’ fun in ‘21! Bringing dance, theater, music & fine arts from local, regional, national, and international artists, Sweet Pea is not just an event that focuses on all forms of art; Sweet Pea gives back to the community with grants for art organizations, art education and art projects such as the Bogert Park Pool Mosaic. With additional events leading up to the Festival including Chalk on the Walk & the Bite of Bozeman and other events during the year such as our Ice Sculpture Competition and the Gingerbread House Building Competition, Sweet Pea strives to fulfill its mission to promote & cultivate the arts & to expand its commitment to our community year round.

SATURDAY Tall Tall Trees Asheville, NC SATURDAY 1:30 PM • THE BOWL
Tall Tall Trees is the pseudonym of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Savino. Touring non- stop since 2009, he pioneers a world of psychedelic electric banjo music, captivating audiences with his loop-based one-man shows. A Wave of Golden Things, his 4th studio album, opens with the distant crow of a rooster and takes off in a dust cloud of swirling banjo, drums, and bass. The lead off track, The Wind, She Whispers, quickly evolves from a droning mountain melody into full-blown banjo funk. Though the banjo is heavily featured, the influence of Pink Floyd and Cat Stevens can be felt as much as banjo mavericks, like Earl Scruggs and Béla Fleck. Savino’s message is one of hope and finding peace of mind in the chatter of the modern world. He will be performing with local drummer, Drew Fleming, and longtime collaborator and friend, Kishi Bashi, may show up for a few tunes. 12 SATURDAY
