Welcome to The Garland Summer Musicals 34th Season GARLAND SUMMER MUSICALS GUILD

GSM was created in 1983 to give Garland a major summer musical theatre Chairman Patty Montagno Mathis program which allows professional artists through Actor's Equity Association to work with performers of all ages as part of a theatre training and professional Vice Chairman Kim Nurmi production company. Treasurer Brenda Rozinsky Secretary Jim Mathis Education has been a primary focus of the GSM since its inception. For 34 years GSM has worked with the Dallas County Community College District. GSM first Marketing/Usher Chair Cheyenne Schweitzer started the DCCCD partnership with Eastfield College in 1983. Each summer Social Chairs Ester Erwin; Sharon Willis scholarships are given to students and teachers through this program. Since 1998 Concessions/Receptions Janice Black, Sheri George, GSM has also had an ongoing partnership with Tarleton State University in their Bev McNamara Theatre Intern Program. GSM is proud of its continuing partnership with Dallas Young Artists in their camp program which culminated with a superb production of The Little Mermaid. Who’s Who in the Cast CARL DeFORREST HENDIN (Jimmy Winter/Co-Choreographer) is thrilled to be back at GSM this summer! National Tours: Nice Work if You Can Get It (Swing) and Monty Python’s Spamalot. Regional: The Producers at the Engeman Theater (Stormtrooper Tenor), Spamalot at Arrow Rock Lyceum, and the NYC premiere of The Spoon River Pro- ject performed in the historic Greenwood Cemetery. Past GSM credits include Singin’ in the Rain (Cosmo) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (J. Pierrepont Finch). BM in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University. LAUREN URSO (Billie Bendix) is thrilled to be making her debut at Garland Summer Musicals. Favorite credits include Avenue Q (Kate Monster) with Brookhaven College; the regional premier of Bonnie and Clyde (Bonnie Parker) with Oklahoma City University; and singing back-up to Patti LuPone in her concert Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda last spring. Lauren just completed her Junior year at Oklahoma City Univer- sity where she is pursuing a double degree in Musical Theatre and Vocal Performance. KIM BORGE SWARNER (Eileen Evergreen) is thrilled to be back at GSM after appearing in 9 to 5 The Musical as Doralee. Kim has re- cently been seen as Marvel Anne in Psycho Beach Party and I Love Y ou, You're Perfect, Now Change at Theatre Three for the past three years. STEVEN J. GOLIN (Cookie McGee) is delighted to return to his favorite stage on earth! You may have seen him previously here as Roscoe Dexter in Singin’ in the Rain (2013) or Lank Hawkins in (2015). AARON GALLAGHER (Chief Berry) is excited and very grateful to be making his GSM debut. Aaron was last seen on stage as the Baker in Garland Civic Theatre’s 2015 production of Into the Woods and before that as Taxi in Undermain Theatre's regional premiere of Sam Shepard's The Late Henry Moss in 2003. Favorite previous roles include: Bottom from Midsummer, Jerry from The Zoo Story, Pisthe- tairos from The Birds, Arkenholz from The Ghost Sonata, and Anton Schill in The Visit. Aaron is currently serving as the Theatre Director at Austin Academy for Excellence in GISD. He wishes to thank his wife, parents, family, teachers, and students.

JAMES WILLIAMS (Senator Max Evergreen) is excited to re- turn to the GSM stage, having last performed as JB Bigley in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Most recently he ap- peared as the Captain in Lyric Stage’s Anything Goes, and will next be seen as Squire Dap in Lyric Stage’s production of Camelot, along- side his daughter Kristen Beth Williams as Guenevere! Favorite roles at GSM include Pat Denning in 42nd Street, General Harrison Howell in Kiss Me Kate, the Mayor in The Music Man, and Lindsey Woolsey in Mame. Regional favorites include Carriere in Phantom, Captain Smith in Titanic, Col. Dr. Otternschlag in Grand Hotel, and Narrator/Mysterious Man in Into the Woods.
