Only if you are one of two things: A diehard Jasmin St. Claire fan or you obtain it free of charge. And before you porn hounds get overly excited about the prospect of seeing Ms. St. Claire nude, it will not happen on this DVD. Granted, St. Claire does provide some embarrassingly unintelligent commentary on a rage of topics, political and otherwise, in a bubble bath, but her moneymakers are strategically covered. At a total running time of 80 minutes, at least the torture is kept to a minimum. Basically, what you get is a series of uninformed interviews with George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (CANNIBAL CORPSE), Ted Aguilar and Dennis Pepa (DEATH ANGEL), Satyr (SATYRICON), Pat Lachman and Vinnie Paul (DAMAGEPLAN), and Jeff Loomis, Warrel Dane, and Van Williams (NEVERMORE). Aside from St. Claire's mind- numbingly stupid questions and juvenile attempts to prove her metal credibility, the interviewees are good sports and offer some halfway http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/showdvdreview.aspx?reviewID=7 7/18/2006 BLABBERMOUTH.NET Page 3 of 4 decent commentary. Videos of CANNIBAL CORPSE's "Decency Defied", DEATH ANGEL's "Thicker than Blood", and SATYRICON's "Fuel for Hatred" are obviously highlights. I suppose that the tribute to Dimebag Darrell in which a series of still photos are shown as melancholy music plays in the background is tolerable. So why a 3 rating, as opposed to a 1 or 2? Because the ridiculousness runs so deep that it is mildly entertaining at times, not to mention the commentary offered from the interviewees and the videos. Oh yeah, and Jasmin is pretty friggin' hot. The most frightening part? Schlug unser Trommler meinetwegen ein Be- cken an, gab es diesen besonderen Klang: Zisch-ziiisch-ziiiiiisch ... Unglücklicherweise kam bei den Probeaufnahmen Terrys Assistent herein, um jenen Raum, in dem das Schlagzeug aufgebaut war, gemäß seiner ursprünglichen Funktion zu nutzen. Jedenfalls wunderten wir uns im Kontrollraum, warum auf einmal dieser massiv widerhallende Wasserfall-Sound aus den Boxen quoll ...“3 Eine Frage der Authentizität Die wohl seltsamste Aufnahme-Session in ihren Karrieren als Produzent und Toningenieur erlebte das Gespann Steve Thompson/Michael Barbiero während der Aufnahmen zum Guns - N’Roses-Debüt APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION: „Sänger Axl Rose verlangte von mir ‚authen- tische Sounds’ für den Song Rocket Queen“, erzählt Steve Thompson. „Deswegen kam er dann mit einem Mäd- chen hereinspaziert — und machte Sex mit ihr in der Aufnahmekabine. Letztend- lich hatten wir ein 30-mi- nütiges Band voller Gestöhne.
