In 2019–20 we plan to: • continue planning for the Cairns Western Arterial Road between Barron River and the Captain Cook Highway • commence developing the Cairns to Northern Tablelands Access Strategy • continue planning for safety and capacity improvements at the Machans Beach and Holloways Beach intersections on the Captain Cook Highway • continue planning for capacity improvements on the Captain Cook Highway between Barron River and Airport Avenue • continue planning for future upgrade works on the Captain Cook Highway between Poolwood Road and Endeavour Road • continue planning for the Innisfail Bypass, jointly funded by the Australian Government and Queensland Government.
