Police launch operation to combat car contents thefts in Horsham Police in Horsham have launched Operation Blackout as they tackle a spate of thefts from parked vehicles over recent weeks. Incidents have been reported on several residential roads around the town, with thieves stealing whatever property comes to hand. Sergeant Adam Ferries, of the Horsham neighbourhood policing team, said: "We have had some success with our investigations, but we would still ask motorists to reduce the risk of becoming victims by removing, or at least concealing, any valuables; ensuring doors and windows are secure, and parking in brightly-lit areas." He added: "We're also encouraging anyone who sees or hears anything suspicious, or who is unfortunate enough to become a victim of theft themselves, to report it to police immediately using 999. Other information that may be of help can be sent online or by phoning 101." Two men charged in connection with Horsham murder Two men have been charged with the murder of Anthony Williams on Tuesday, September 19 in Park Way, Horsham.

Nicholas Bridge, 18 from Loughborough Park, Brixton, London and Daniel Omofeghare, 20, of no fixed abode, have both been charged with murder. They will be appear at Brighton Magistrates Court on Saturday (September 23).

A 22-year-old woman of no fixed address, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on bail until 17 October pending further enquiries. A 30-year-old man from , arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released with no further action.

Two other men, both from Horsham, aged 50 and 36, have been arrested on Friday September 22 on suspicion of aiding, abetting or assisting the offence. They have both been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Heater said: "We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information to please come forward."

Reference: 1023 26th September Location: Hills Place, Horsham Date and time: On the 26th September Details: Five garages broken into by forcing locks one garage had a bicycle stolen. Reference: 1221 27th September Location: River Mead, Horsham Date and time: Between 25th and 27th September Details: Several garages have had locks broken no reports of anything stolen. Reference: 1321 27th September Location: Tanbridge Place, Horsham Date and time: Sometime over the last ten days Details: Bent the lock on garage door to gain access then stole off road bike. Reference: 0292 28th September Location: Ash Road, Date and time: Between 1300hrs 24th September and 0820hrs 28th September Details: 2 garages were broken into, nothing stolen Reference: 0474 28th September Location: Road, Brooks Green Date and time: Between midnight 27th September and 0400hrs 28th September Details: Someone broke into container and stole power tools.
