YEAR-END EDITION 2019 Global Headquarters Republic Records 1755 Broadway, New York City 10019 © 2019 Mediabase 1 REPUBLIC #1 FOR 6TH STRAIGHT YEAR UMG SCORES TOP 3 -- AS INTERSCOPE, CAPITOL CLAIM #2 AND #3 SPOTS For the sixth consecutive year, REPUBLIC is the #1 label for Mediabase chart share. • The 2019 chart year is based on the time period from November 11, 2018 through November 9, 2019. • All spins are tallied for the full 52 weeks and then converted into percentages for the chart share. • The final chart share includes all applicable label split-credit as submitted to Mediabase during the year. • For artists, if a song had split-credit, each artist featured was given the same percentage for the artist category that was assigned to the label share. REPUBLIC’S total chart share was 19.2% -- up from 16.3% last year. Their Top 40 chart share of 28.0% was a notable gain over the 22.1% they had in 2018. REPUBLIC took the #1 spot at Rhythmic with 20.8%. They were also the leader at Hot AC; where a fourth quarter surge landed them at #1 with 20.0%, that was up from a second place 14.0% finish in 2018. Since 1958, the NPRDP has unified the Puerto Rican community, as the Puerto Rican Parade of New York, which was expanded to the national level in 1995 as the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. At the press conference hosted by NPRDP’s Board of Directors at the Taller de Fotoperiodismo of Puerto Rico (an organization that provides professional and educational support to members of the press), and under its theme: “One Nation, Many Voices”, the Board announced that the Grand Marshal of the Parade will be, multiple Latin Grammy Award-winning singer, actor and producer Gilberto Santa Rosa, “El Caballero de la Salsa” (“The Knight of Salsa”). Sammy Garcia In the world of the tropical music, Sammy is counted as one of the very best amongst such legendary performers as: Conjunto Clásico, Willie Colón, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Nieves, Puerto Rican Power, Celia Cruz, Cheo Feliciano, Víctor Manuell, Olga Tañón, Elvis Crespo y Ricardo Arjona, just to name a few. His professional experiences during his musical career, afforded him the opportunity to play in such great venues and events such as: Concerts in the Madison Square Garden, Aruba Jazz Festival, Feria de Calí, Festival de la Calle Ocho, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Carnaval de Panamá, Día Nacional de la Salsa y Congreso Mundial de la Salsa, among others. They serve as a strong center for his artistic foundation, entertaining diverse audiences around the world.
