Holly Hunter joins the cast of HBO drama series SUCCESSION

Beginning where season one dramatically left off, season two follows the Roy family as they struggle to retain control of their empire, and while the future looks increasingly uncertain, it is the past that threatens to ultimately destroy them.

In this context of the story is that Holly Hunter joins the cast of HBO drama series SUCCESION.

Holly Hunter, won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in The Piano directed by Jane Campion, as well as receiving Oscar nominations for her performances in James L. Brooks’ Broadcast News, Sydney Pollack’s The Firm and Catherine Hardwicke’s Thirteen.

Hunter most recently received acclaim for her performance in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy hit The Big Sick directed by Michael Showalter , receiving nominations for both SAG Award and Independent Spirit Awards, as well as reprising her voice role as “Elastigirl” in Brad Bird’s blockbuster animated Pixar sequel The Incredibles 2.

Among Hunter’s other notable film credits are The Coen Bros.’ Raising Arizona, as well as their film O Brother, Where Art Thou?; David Cronenberg’s Crash; Steven Spielberg’s Always; Danny Boyle’s A Life Less Ordinary; Jodie Foster’s Home for the Holidays; Jon Amiel’s Copycat; Lasse Halstrom’s Once Around, and Zach Snyder’s Batman v Superman, among others.

Her TV credits include Emmy’s for Best Actress for her roles in The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom and Roe vs. Wade, as well as Emmy nominations for her starring role on the series Saving Grace and for her roles in the television films When Billie Beat Bobby, Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her, and Harlan County War. Hunter was reunited with Jane Campion for her SAG nominated performance in Top of the Lake, and most recently starred opposite Tim Robbins in Alan Ball’s HBO series HERE AND NOW.

Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009.
