The second Association meeting was December 2, 1973.

At the December meeting, Robert Mitchell was elected to serve as Director-at-Large. Additionally, a constitution and by-laws proposed by the officers was approved. The RMIWA now had 25 members from four states. Also, the RMIWA’s first rescue group, “Homes for Hounds,” had helped find new homes for two “misplaced” IWs.

The third meeting was scheduled for March 16, 1974, following the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in which the Irish Wolfhounds marched as part of the “Honor Division.” To this day, the wolfhounds march under the RMIWA banner. The Association’s first newsletter was 1975 RMIWA Specialty Best Brace: published February 13, 1974 with results of the Ballyshannon St. Padraig & Ballyshannon St. Brighid December meeting.
