Turkey has a plan to procure as many as 116 F-35As, conventional take-off and landing (CTOL) variant, until 2031 for the TurAF to replace the ageing F-4E 2020s and F-16C/D Block 30s and Block 40s. Turkey has participated in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program starting from Concept Demonstration Phase (CDP), in which Turkey invested US$6.2 Million. As a Level-III Partner of the Program Turkey has committed US$175 Million to the F-35 JSF System Development and Demonstration (SDD) Phase, under the agreement awarded on July 11, 2002. On January 25, 2007, with a MoU Turkey participated the Production, Sustainment and Follow-on Development Phase (PSFD) of the JSF Program, and pledged around US$700 Million to aircraft production. According to U.S. Defence Secretary Jim MATTIS, so far Turkey has invested US$1.25 Billion in the F-35 development phase. 10 Turkish Defence and aerospace companies (Alp Aviation, Aselsan/MİKES, AYESAŞ, Fokker Elmo, Havelsan, Kale Aero, Kale Pratt & Whitney Engine Industries, Roketsan, TÜBiTAK-SAGE and Turkish Aerospace) have been supporting the development and production phases of the F-35 JSF Program. The Prime Contractor of the JSF Program LM declared that F-35 Production Industrial Participation opportunities for Turkish companies (in total for LM and P&W) are expected to reach more than US$12 Billion by the end of the Program. The rollout ceremony for Turkey’s first F-35A aircraft AT-01 (serial 18-0001), was held at Lockheed Martin’s Fort Worth facility in Texas on June 21, 2018. The ceremony was attended by Vice President of Defence Industries Serdar DEMİREL, representing the Turkish Government, and Major General Reha Ufuk ER, representing the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF). The F-35A Lightning IIs destined to the TurAF are expected to remain in the U.S. at least until November 2019 and will be utilized in TurAF pilot and maintenance personnel training F-35A Lightning II is not just about the aircraft, but the entire air system and remains crucial to the continued modernization of TAF and Turkey’s ability to preserve Turkish and allied security and interests. It will add a wide range of capabilities to the Turkish Armed Forces that Turkey has never had before. According to the SSB as of June 22, 2018, Turkey has placed an order for a total of 30 F-35As. By the end of 2023 TurAF is expected to receive a total of 30 F-35As, which have been ordered in two batches, and all will be deployed at the 7th Main Jet Base (MJB) located in Akçadağ, Malatya.     Samran Ali Anti-Access/AreaDenial Strategy for Pakistan Navy: A Work in Progress Samran Ali* Abstract Pakistan Navy (PN) has embarked on the largest modernization program in its history. The modernization is not only aimed at plugging the gaps in its operational capabilities but also making it a potent force. It is being equipped with a range of anti-ship missiles to keep the Indian ships at bay and inducting effective air-defense systems that will deny the Indian Navy freedom of action in its area of control. The induction of new types of ships from China and Turkey is helping it realize these objectives. The induction of new ships will not only increase the numerical strength of PN but also bring with them new technologies and new roles. PN`s modernization plan is in line with what is termed as the Anti-Access/Area-Denial (A2/AD) strategy. This paper discusses the induction of new assets and attempts to figure out their capabilities under the strategy of A2/AD operations, with the limited available primary source data.     Open dagen Koninklijke Luchtmacht 2007 op de luchtmachtbasis Volkel. De jaarlijkse Open Dagen van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht, die op vrijdag 15 en zaterdag 16 juni op de vliegbasis Volkel werden gehouden, zijn in totaal door maar liefst 240.000 bezoekers bezocht. Daarvan kwamen er op zaterdag alleen al 160.000 naar de Brabantse vliegbasis, die onder de naam "Ontdek wat de luchtmacht doet voor jouw veiligheid" jong en oud een blik in de keuken gunde. Vliegtuigen die duizelingwekkende loopings maken, loodrecht omhoog schieten en in wijde bochten weer naar beneden cirkelen om vervolgens met immense snelheid voorbij het publiek te denderen. Demonstratieteams die akelig nauwkeurig hun formaties vliegen. Helikopters die onmogelijk lijkende manoeuvres met schijnbaar achteloos gemak demonstreren. Als bezoeker kom je ogen en oren tekort om alles goed op te kunnen nemen. De Open dagen zijn 15 juni om acht uur van start gegaan. Ondanks een druilerige regen hadden de eerste liefhebbers zich al ver van tevoren bij de poort van Vliegbasis Volkel verzamelt. "Na tienen wordt het droog", wist een fanatieke Open Dagen bezoeker te melden. "Ik heb het net nog even gekeken op buienradar.nl", wist zijn goed geïnformeerde kennis te melden. Om klokslag negen uur steeg de eerste straaljager op voor zijn demoshow. Het was de Belgische F-16 solo display die de eer had de show te mogen openen. Voor de eerste keer was ook de Hawker Hunter te aanschouwen: De Hawker Hunter, een klassieke straaljager waarvan er in de jaren ´50 van de vorige eeuw ruim tweehonderd in dienst waren bij de luchtmacht. In Friesland heeft een club enthousiaste mensen onder de naam Dutch Hawker Hunter Foundation (DHHF) de handen ineen geslagen om dit stuk vliegende historie terug te halen naar Nederland.
