Tribul Cochylini (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) În România. Partea III Bul.inf. Entomol., 17: 5-56, 2006 ISSN 1221 - 5244 Tribul Cochylini (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) în România. Partea III. (Agapeta, Ceratoxanthis, Fulvoclysia, Eugnosta, Commophila, Prochlidonia, Eupoecilia) Zoltán KOVÁCS & Sándor KOVÁCS Abstract The Tribus Cochylini (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) in Romania Results of the revision of the tribe Cochylini of Romania are presented. The presences of 89 species belonging to 16 genera are confirmed in the Romanian fauna. The first part of the series dis- cussed the general description of the tribe and the first two genera: Phtheochroa and Hysterophora (Bul. inf. Soc. lepid. rom. 12(1-4): 5-45, 2001), the second part discussed the genera Cochylimorpha, Phalonidia and Gynnidomorpha (Bul. inf. Entomol. 14-15: 57-145, 2003-2004). This third part of the series discusses the genera Agapeta, Ceratoxanthis, Fulvoclysia, Eugnosta, Commophila, Prochlidonia and Eupoecilia. The presences of 12 species belonging to 6 genera are confirmed in the Romanian fauna. The presence of Eugnosta hydrargyrana hydrargyrana (EV E RSMANN , 1842), Commophila ae- neana (HÜBN E R , [1800]) and Eupoecilia sanguisorbana (HE RRIC H - SC H ÄFF E R , 1856) are considered doubtful in the Romanian fauna. Keys to all treated and further one expected species, based on exter- nal characters, male and female genitalia are provided. Fore wings of adults, male and female genitalia are figured. Short description, biological and distributional data are given. The examined material is presented. Key words: Cochylini, Romania, revision, Agapeta, Ceratoxanthis, Fulvocly- sia, Eugnosta, Commophila, Prochlidonia, Eupoecilia. 5 Genul Agapeta HÜBN E R , [1825] Diagnostic: ADULT. Tuba analis are un sclerit ven- tral mare. SPECIAL PUBLICATION 4 SEPTEMBER 1982 INVERTEBRATES OF THE H.J. ANDREWS EXPERIMENTAL FOREST, WESTERN CASCADE MOUNTAINS, OREGON: A SURVEY OF ARTHROPODS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CANOPY OF OLD-GROWTH Pseudotsuga Menziesii D.J. Voegtlin FORUT REJEARCH LABORATORY SCHOOL OF FORESTRY OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY Since 1941, the Forest Research Laboratory--part of the School of Forestry at Oregon State University in Corvallis-- has been studying forests and why they are like they are. A staff or more than 50 scientists conducts research to provide information for wise public and private decisions on managing and using Oregons forest resources and operating its wood-using industries. Because of this research, Oregons forests now yield more in the way of wood products, water, forage, wildlife, and recreation. Wood products are harvested, processed, and used more efficiently. Employment, productivity, and profitability in industries dependent on forests also have been strengthened. And this research has helped Oregon to maintain a quality environment for its people. Much research is done in the Laboratorys facilities on the campus. But field experiments in forest genetics, young- growth management, forest hydrology, harvesting methods, and reforestation are conducted on 12,000 acres of School forests adjacent to the campus and on lands of public and private cooperating agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest. With these publications, the Forest Research Laboratory supplies the results of its research to forest land owners and managers, to manufacturers and users of forest products, to leaders of government and industry, and to the general public. The Author David J. Voegtlin is Assistant Taxonomist at the Illinois Natural History Survey, Champaign, Illinois.

We conducted a multiple-gene phylogenetic analysis of 70 species representing 24 23 genera of Cochylina and eight species representing eight genera of Euliina, and a maximum 24 likelihood analysis based on 293 barcodes representing over 220 species of Cochylina. The 25 results confirm the hypothesis that Cochylina is a monophyletic group embedded within a 26 paraphyletic Euliina. We recognize and define six major monophyletic lineages within 27 Cochylina: a Phtheochroa Group, a Henricus Group, an Aethes Group, a Saphenista Group, a 28 Phalonidia Group, and a Cochylis Group.

Upper Thames Branch Moth Sightings Archive - January to June 2007 On Friday 29th June Dave Wilton carried out his transect in Finemere Wood and in the evening ran his overnight moth trap in his Westcott garden: "Moths seen in Finemere Wood were Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet (3), Clouded Border (2), Marbled White Spot (1) and Silver Y (1). My garden Robinson trap produced my first reasonable catch for a week or two, with more than 400 moths from about 80 species ending up in the trap. Best of the bunch were Lappet and Scarce Silver-lines, with Scarce Footman, Clay, Smoky Wainscot, Olive, Pleuroptya ruralis/Mother of Pearl and Phycitodes binaevella also new for my garden year list. The following evening a Blackneck came to our kitchen window light." Phycitodes binaevella Scarce Silver-lines Blackneck Photo © Dave Wilton Photo © Dave Wilton Photo © Dave Wilton ~ Thursday 28th June 2007 ~ Dave Wilton sent this moth report on 27th June: "On 26th June I was foolish enough to run my actinic trap at Westcott even though the temperature fell to 8 degrees Celsius overnight. The result was a pitiful catch of 64 moths from 17 species. Compare that to the same day last year when I got 800 moths in the Robinson! The poor weather of the past few days seems to have had a drastic effect on catches all across the country although last night did produce one new species for me, the Short-cloaked Moth. Looking on the bright side, thanks to Peter Hall and his microscope I do now have a few additions to the UTB list from back in April: Dichrorampha acuminatana, Elachista canapennella, Dipleurina lacustrata, Eudonia truncicolella and Parornix anglicella were all trapped in my garden, Rhopobota stagnana (B&F 1161, formerly Griselda stagnana) was found in the disused railway cutting west of Westcott Airfield and Pammene argyrana was caught in Rushbeds Wood." Also, while doing a butterfly transect in Finemere Wood on 20th June, Dave kicked up a Crambus perlella from the grass.

Abstract. While testing the effieacy of herbicides on paddy weeds at the Rice Research Institute of Iran (RRII) in 2008, we encountered the failure of arrowhead {Sagittaria sagittifolia L., Alismataceae) seeds to germinate. Detailed investigation revealed physical damage of seeds caused by the larvae of Gynnidomorpha permixtana (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) (Tortricidae, Tortricinae, Cochylina). Further studies showed that larvae feed on the seeds and flowers of the host plant and destroy the achenes. Under laboratory conditions G. permixtana required 23-30 days to complete its life cycle. Arrowhead is a new host record for this moth species; further- more, this is the first detailed record of a tortricid feeding on this plant. Introduction Arrowhead {Sagittaria sagittifolia L.; Alismataceae) is a perennial weed that is present throughout the rice growing areas of eastern Asia (Naylor 1996). It is a major weed pest of paddy rice in Iran (Mohammadsharifi 2000). Arrowhead is difficult to control due to herbicide tolerance and sea- son-long emergence (Kwon 1993).
