Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji in Toronto Acting Consul General, Mr. N P Singh and Consul (Commerce), Mr. Saifullah Khan welcomed Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji at a VIP ` Reception, organised by Art of Living Foundation together with Canada India Foundation on July 11, 2018. Mr. N P Singh addressed the audience. He appreciated the work that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji and Art of Living Foundation is doing for the upliftment of the underprivileged. He acknowledged that fact that the path of universal brotherhood, which is followed by GuruJi is the guiding principle of all religions in the world. He concluded by highlighting the need that today's world has for people like GuruJi who are working relentlessly for humanity and world peace. Carabram Brampton City Multicultural Festival Consul (Commerce), Mr. Saifullah Khan, along with MP (Brampton South) Ms. Sonia Sidhu, Regional Councillor Mr. Michael Palleschi, MPP Mr. Amarjot Sandhu (Brampton West) and Mr. Sanjeev Malik Vice President, Carabram India Pavilion inaugurated the India Pavilion at the Carabram Brampton City Multicultural Festival on July 13, 2018. The India Pavilion at the Carabram Festival was organised by South Asian Canadians Health & Social Services- SACHSS & Starglam Entertainments. Carabram is an annual multicultural festival that brings together cultures across Brampton through food, entertainment and education. Canada Day Celebrations by Don Minaker Seniors Club Mr. D P Singh, Consul (Press, Information & Community Welfare) attended the Canada Day celebrations, organized by Don Minaker Seniors Club Brampton on July 15, 2018. He congratulated the gathering for Canada Day and briefed everyone about the various services offered by the Consulate General of India, Toronto. Musical Night of Jammu & Kashmir Mr. R S Rawat, Vice Consul (Visa) attended the Musical Night of Jammu & Kashmir presented by the Hindi Writers Guild & Sangeet Radio Program. The Musical Night of Jammu & Kashmir was a beautiful blend of music from all the regions of the beautiful state where musicians and singers from the state enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing compositions and numbers. The event saw performances from various acclaimed Kashmiri singers. The proceeds of the event will towards Indian Army Welfare "Bharat ke veer” initiative by Actor Akshay Kumar. World Sanskrit Conference at University of British Columbia

Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Shri Prakash Javadekar formally inaugurated the 17th World Sanskrit Conference in Vancouver and lighted the traditional lamp. Hon’ble Minister called for use of Sanskrit as a language of common use, not just research and saluted all the torch bearers of Sanskrit in his inaugural speech. State Visit President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) H.E. Mr. Moon Jae-in to India

President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) H.E. Mr. Moon Jae-in paid a State Visit to India from July 8-11, 2018. During the visit, President Moon and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi elaborated a shared vision for peace and prosperity for the people of the two countries. They reaffirmed their mutual desire to further strengthen the ROK-India ‘Special Strategic Partnership’ built on the foundations of deep-rooted historical and cultural bonds, and based on shared universal values of democracy, free market economy, rule of law, common commitment to a peaceful, stable, secure, free, open, inclusive and rules-based region. They agreed to work towards fostering a ‘future oriented partnership for People, Prosperity and Peace’. Both the leaders expressed confidence that their shared vision will provide a new impetus to the expansion and deepening of engagement between the two countries and will serve as a cornerstone for a new era of India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership. During the State Visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in inaugurated Samsung's mobile phone manufacturing unit in Noida, which is the largest such facility in the world.

Know Your India Programme Know India Programme (KIP) of the Ministry of External Affairs is a three-week orientation programme for diaspora youth conducted with a view to promote awareness on different facets of life in India and the progress made by the country in various fields e.g. economic, industrial, education, science & technology, communication & information Technology, culture. KIP has now announced its 47th - 52nd editions with the partnering states of Tamil Nadu, Manipur & Mizoram, Karnataka, Gujarat, Bihar & Jharkhand and Daman & Diu and Maharashtra. Participants of 49th to 52th KIP will also have the opportunity to participate in PBD Convention, 2019, Kumbh Snan (The Holy Ganges Bath) and the Republic Day Parade in January 2019.
