Martínez-Ramírez ABSTRACT As in other countries, Pentecostalism has become a force of religious, social and political change in Puerto Rico. The first part of this article examines the origins and evolution of Puerto Rican Pentecostalism and Post-Pentecostalism. The latter advocates the theology of prosperity, preaching a gospel that promises financial wealth to converts. The second part of the article explores the causes and consequences of Pentecostal and Post-Pentecostal political activism in the island. It explains why key religious leaders supported the pro-statehood candidate for governor and political party in the 1992 and 1996 general elections, and assesses the implications of such activism in the context of Puerto Rico’s status politics. These religious lead- ers and groups have the capacity to foster political change in a predominantly Catholic country. Teniendo como punto de partida los textos de los historiadores mas reconocidos, hemos tratado de seguir el hilo al discurso patriótico para determinar la forma como la sociedad asumió la participación de las mujeres en los eventos que culminaron con la independencia de España. La ponencia esta dividida en las cuatro partes siguientes: 1- Antecedentes 2- Los primeros historiadores 3- El planteamiento centenarista 4- Nuevas aproximaciones 1- ANTECEDENTES: 1.1 - Las mujeres de la Ilustración Para entender el juicio de valor de los primeros historiadores sobre la actuación de las mujeres conviene recordar brevemente la posición que estas tuvieron dentro de la sociedad española del siglo XVIII. También es necesario considerar que fue justamente en ese período cuando se abrió el debate sobre la condición femenina por influencia de las ideas de la Ilustración venidas de Francia con la dinastía borbónica, a partir de la obra del padre Benito Jerónimo Feijoo 1 y de otros notables pensadores que se ocuparon de revisar el rol y replantear el destino que la sociedad había ofrecido al mundo femenino.     SUMMARY OF THE LORD JEHOVAH'S MESSAGE THROUGH PROPHET EFRAIN RODRIGUEZ We all have a duty to announce and ask the Holy Spirit to confirm this message. Be prepared, all the governments of Earth! Save plenty of water and non-perishable foods. God said, Get ready to receive the Holy One of Israel but under chastisement. This year the judgment will fall. Jehovah God will touch the earth with His feet at two in the morning. The Word of God says in Revelation 3:10: "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth." We will go through a great chastisement and after this grief, a new church will be born that the Lord shall snatch away to Heaven in The Rapture. These events will awaken the Church of Christ on Earth. This judgment, even if others differ, is due to the Church, both here in Puerto Rico, as in the rest of the world. The Church today left aside all the principles for which Jesus died on the Cross, principles that would allow us to see Him and the Father. It all comes down to Holiness, "without which no man shall see the Lord." People say: "Today may be the Rapture of the church." At present, if The Lord came to look for His church right now, He would find very, very few true Christians candidates to go to Heaven with Him. The Rapture will come AFTER the events that are approaching.

First, I analyze the lexical coincidence of the phrase queer duck with terms in Spanish and Yiddish such as pato, pata, and feygele. I then go on to discuss Puerto Rican and diasporic cultural productions engaging these tropes, including works by Alfredo Collado Martell, Luis Lloréns Torres, Alfredo Villanueva-Collado, Ángel Lozada, Frances Negrón-Muntaner, Alexandra Pagán Vélez, and the Arthur Avilés Typical Theatre, as well as my own performance piece, Abolición del pato.
