Hi ladies! Welcome to UNF and Panhellenic Formal Recruitment! We are so excited for you all to begin your sorority journey with us. Whether you are new to Jacksonville or have lived here your entire life, we are certain that this experience will help you find your place and a home away from home for your remaining time at UNF.

Our campus has seven incredible and unique chapters with diverse and inspiring women. Each chapter supports their own philanthropic cause that becomes an integral part of every woman’s sorority experience. In addition to raising over $85,000 a year for eight charitable causes, our Panhellenic community is constantly giving back to the Jacksonville and sur- rounding areas. Last year alone, our sisters completed over 15,000 service hours to help those in need. Opportunities and experiences like these only further strengthen the bonds of our individual and Panhellenic sisterhoods. Aside from our philanthropic efforts and sisterhood, one of every chapter’s top priorities is academic success for all of our members. Each chapter has their own academic standards and programs to ensure that every member does not lose sight of why they’re in college.

The individual chapters are governed by the Panhellenic Council and its executive board- that’s us! Throughout the year, we plan events, service projects, fundraisers and study nights that work to unify members of all seven chapters. Our board, along with women called Rho Gammas who have disaffiliated from their own chapters for the summer, will be here to help you along every step in your recruitment process.

Wherever you choose to call your home, we know you’ll be happy! Trust the system, your Rho Gammas, and yourself and get ready to begin an incredible journey that will last the rest of your life! We can’t wait to meet you!!

With love, Panhellenic Exec 4 Potential New Member Bill of Rights

Academics One common value held by all 7 chapters is academic excellence. Our All-Panhellenic cumulative GPA is 3.19, which is higher than the UNF All-Women’s GPA. Members in all chapters are held accountable through things like study hours and grade reports, and are rewarded with banquets and gifts from their chapters for good grades. New members should expect guidance and support from sisters through their first semester of college.

New During the new member process, each chapter holds weekly meetings run by the New Member Educators. These meetings Member are held to teach new members about the rich histories of their sororities and to prepare them to be initiated into their chapters. Meetings New member meetings are a great time to meet older sisters and bond with your new member class!

Service From the start, our community aims to instill a sense of pride into each new member about giving back to our community. There EVENTS are several service events available to new members through individual chapters, and numerous philanthropy events always going on that support chapters in all four councils.

Greek From philanthropy events, to Panhellenic Pride Week, to Greek Week and more, the fall semester is always filled with many events EVents hosted by different fraternities, sororities, and councils. The fall calendar is always packed with fun events that allow our new members to meet people from different chapters and councils. These events also serve to educate our new members on risk management, involve them in service events, and instill confidence and leadership into them. 7 Sororities value leadership and encourage their members to not only get involved within their chapters but within the Greek Values community, the UNF community, and the Jacksonville community. Leadership Each sorority has unique opportunities at both the local and national level to develop their members through programs that focus on topics from leadership development, to risk management, to communication.

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life serves as a springboard for new members looking to get involved with the Emerging Leaders Institute and the opportunity to be a Greek Ambassador. But the amongst our members doesn’t stop with Greek life; in every chapter you will meet women involved in organizations on campus such as: Student Government, Swoop Squad, First Year Mentors, and holding executive level positions in several academic and non-academic clubs. Scholarship Across all chapters academic achievement is the top priority. Both individual chapters and Panhellenic push members to reach their highest potential in school. Each chapter implements their own unique programs and initiatives that promote high academic performance. These programs and initiatives include study hours in the library and tutoring, to Geek of the Week recognition and Dean’s List Dinners.

Every sorority woman has the opportunity to apply for and earn scholarship money through her sorority’s foundations and alumnae chapters. The National Panhellenic Council and Jacksonville Alumnae Panhellenic Association also award scholarships to women who have demonstrated both academic and leadership achievement.

In Spring 2017 the Panhellenic grade point average was a 3.05. UNF Panhellenic is proud to consistently achieve a higher grade point average than the non-Greek undergraduate women. This statistic indicates the positive effect sororities have on women’s 8 academic achievement. A common goal held by all chapters is to enhance the values Social and standards of women, while simultaneously building lasting relationships. In an effort to encourage members to make these Excellence relationships within their chapter and the Greek community, sororities provide their members an array of social programming and activities. Events like socials, date functions, formals, and Parents Weekends are hosted regularly to give members the opportunity to develop these life long relationships.

At UNF, every sorority maintains a responsible social policy. Chapters follow FIPG policies, require sober monitors at all events Philanthropy where alcohol is served to those of age, and regularly educate members on different risk management topics. In 2016 and 2017, Dr. Lori Hart came to the university to speak to freshmen in Greek life about the dangers of binge drinking. By educating our community on such topics we are able to have fun, while maintain our standards and values.

Although every sorority on UNF’s campus is unique, they all have Sisterhood one thing in common - sisterhood. Sisterhood is the defining characteristic of sorority life. Without the bond of sisterhood we would be just like any other club on this campus. In every chapter you will see a diverse group of women who are united by the bond of sisterhood. Sisterhood is the most sacred part of being in a sorority.

"Sisterhood is many things. It's a warm smile on a cold and rainy day, a friendly hug, a cheerful hello... It's all that a good and lasting friendship is, only better. It's treasured. It's sacred. It's knowing that there will always be someone there for you. It's real."

Through the late nights in the library, coffee dates, sisterhood socials, and retreats the bond of sisterhood is forever growing and strengthening between sisters in every chapter. With events such as monthly Panhellenic socials, Panhellenic date functions, and Panhellenic Pride Week women at UNF often find they gain a sisterhood within Panhellenic. 9 Alpha Delta Pi » THETA SIGMA CHAPTER » IOTA EPSILON CHAPTER Together Let Us Seek The Heights We Live For Each Other
