County board sees an increase in state tobacco tax

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Monday at the Jackson County Courthouse. District 1 Commissioner Marty Clinton, Dis- trict 2 Commissioner Kirk Butler, and District 3 Commissioner Rhet Johnson were present for the meeting along with County Clerk Robin Booker, County Treasurer Renee Howard, County Asses- sor Lisa Roberson, and Sheriff Roger LeVick. The board approved minutes from the Sept. 11 meeting, blanket purchase orders, and claims. The board also approved publication of commissioners’ proceedings for the month of August 2017. Consideration was taken on a database sales contract between Jackson County Assessor and Randall-Reilly, LLC, effective Oct. 1, 2017, through June 20, 2018. The board approved the contract. The board also approved action on the FY2018 Emergency Management Grant Program.
