2007 Atlantic 10 Champions 16 12-Time Atlantic 10 Champions 2008 Women’s Rowing The 1871 CLUB The 1871 Club was established to recognize the on-the-water accomplishments of the men and women who have taken their pursuit of rowing excellence beyond the University of Massachusetts Crew. The name is derived from the first crew to represent the Massachusetts Agricultural College in collegiate athletic competition in 1871. To gain induction, a rower is required to be named to the United States National Rowing Team or have a victory in a senior or elite National Championship event. In the 30 years since the first member was inducted, the club has grown to include Olympians and a World Champion. We are proud of their efforts and accomplishments and hope they continue on their chosen path of hare work, humility and dedication
