CALENDAR SAGA Fundraising Dinner

SAGA was conceived as an NGO that provides complimentary services to Pedro Fights AIDS Campaign government health facilities for PLHIVs in the Sandakan district. Since its inception, it has now extended its focus to service clients from the most at-risk populations (MARP) and running HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns among the local population. SAGA is presided by Dr Zaiton Yahya, a family health specialist at the Duchess of Kent Hospital, Sandakan.

On the evening of December 1, SAGA organised the World AIDS Day Charity Dinner at the Grand Borneo Hotel in Kota Kinabalu. The dinner was officiated by the Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs, YB Datuk Hajah Azizah Mohd Dun. Funds raised from the charity dinner would benefit intervention programmes for PLHIVs in Sabah run by SAGA.

Special appearances by the MAC Red Ribbon Support Celebrities proved to be the highlight of this event, which included a three-song performance by Dayang Nurfaizah. Joey G and Owen Yap meanwhile served as co-hosts for the dinner show.
