The stables are well known in the area and have a high profile which the present owners are extremely proud of. In 2014 they were awarded a Bronze Award in the Dorset Tourist Awards.

South Dorset is renowned for its Jurassic coastline, sandy beaches and extensive heath land, part of which is designated a National Nature Reserve. Much of the area is in the ownership of the and is beautifully preserved and Studland itself is an attractive village that houses a thriving community.

The present owners acquired the stables on a lease from the National Trust in September 2007 and have done a great deal since then to improve both the stable yard itself and the overall experience enjoyed by customers. The opportunity now exists to acquire the remainder of the lease and either continue what is recognised as a thriving business, or run it in tandem with a further equestrian enterprise.

Situation Approached from the East, Studland is reached via a chain ferry across the harbour mouth from Bournemouth. The Stables are situated some two miles uphill from the landing point, close to the centre of the village and are set back from the road.

Studland itself has a shop cum post office, a number of pubs, hotels and guest houses and a Parish Church. Further shops and schools can be found in , whilst more extensive facilities, including transport links, are available in , Bournemouth and Dorchester.

Directions From Bournemouth and Poole – Take the ferry from and on arrival follow the road uphill towards Studland village. The Stables are approximately two miles from the landing point, on the right hand side and are clearly signposted.

From Dorchester – Take the A352 to Wareham and on the outskirts of Wareham bear right onto the A351 to Swanage. After 4 miles bear left onto the B3351 to Studland. Pass through the village and the Stables are clearly sign posted on the left hand side, diagonally downhill from the Post Office.

The Stable Yard Approached along a hard core track from the public highway, immediately in front of the yard is a gravelled area that provides parking for clients’ cars. The yard is entered through a pedestrian gate, with a five bar gate for horse access. The first building on the right is a large barn divided into a hay store, rug store and feed store with boarded loft for more storage. Alongside is the office, with telephone and internet connection.

Fourteen loose boxes then form an open U shape, including one foaling box. Within this complex is a secure tack room, fitted with saddle racks and bridle hooks and a staff room. A further three isolation boxes are situated slightly apart, to the west.

All of these buildings are of timber construction under corrugated Bitumen roof sheets and stand on a concrete pad. Electric light is provided throughout with security lighting, together with a mains water supply. Rubber matting has been fitted to all of the stables.

A round pen stands beside the car parking area of posts and rails construction, with a sand base. The Land Employees The 29 acres included within the lease are divided into four principle areas. The Business As the only commercial stables in the area, Studland Stables has the advantage of having a monopoly over equestrian tourism in the area. The present owners take out annual permits given by the National Trust to ride on Studland Beach from 1st October to 30th June.
