Earl Anthony Memorial $5,000 Scholarship Application Presents the EARL ANTHONY MEMORIAL $5,000 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION THE LEGENDARY EARL ANTHONY won 41 Professional Bowlers Association National Tour Titles and seven PBA Senior Titles. A member of both the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame, he was the first pro bowler to achieve more than $1 million in career earnings. A low key competitor with an accurate, consistent and controlled style that lead many to call him “The Machine,” Anthony displayed true concern for youth bowlers’ success. In 1980 he partnered with the American Junior Bowling Congress in a national contest for youth to “Beat Earl Anthony,” launching what later morphed into the popular “Beat the Coach” challenge that many USBC Youth leagues still conduct today. USBC’s Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship was launched in 2004, three years after Anthony’s death. Many Wonderful friends have aided me through the years. What makes a person humble is the many great bowlers that I have bowled against as a professional and league bowler. His PBA career spanned 1990 to 1997, Tournament parcipation includes NABI first place, 1985 Fred Broski Televised Champion, 1986 Gardener Masters finals, 1996 Southewst Senior Bowlers Association Tour 1,2,6,7,3 place finishes. Bouevard Bowl 40 and over 1, Midwest Senior Bowling Association 1990-1996 five first place finishes. PBA 1990-1997 12 top 24 finishes, including a 300 game. He has won the Midwest Senior Tournament five times, the SASBA Senior tournament one time. Larry has 13 800 series bowled in league and one in the PBA. He has 20 300 games bowled in league and one in the PBA. Larry has some notable records including High Series 1112 in league in 1987.
