Day care surgeries: Many paents requiring cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, squint surgery etc may be admied and discharged the same day of surgery. These day care surgery paents are admied in two batches- at Gam and 11 am. Payment for surgeries is done immediately aer the physician clearance is obtained. The preoperave instrucons will be given by the floor secretary. 2. Short stay procedure: Examinaon under anesthesia, intra vitreal injecons etc may be done in the operaon theatre but the stay of the paent will be for a short period. Depending upon the scheduled me of procedure, the paent may be called a few hours before. 3. Overnight admissions: Usually paents undergoing vitreo-renal surgeries or orbital surgeries are admied the previous day aernoon. Following the surgery, they will be observed overnight and discharged next day morning. Paents for whom surgery is scheduled next day early morning are also admied the previous day aer noon. 4. Number of aendants Ÿ In the special rooms, one aendant is permied normally and is mandatory. Ÿ In special situaons, a second aendant is permied such as in small children, physically / mentally challenged paents. Ÿ In the general ward no aendant is permied rounely. The excepons are in case of paents with poor vision in both eyes, children below 16 yrs of age, elderly paents needing help to go to toilet etc. The permission for aendant should be obtained from the treang consultant.
