What did I perceive my endeavors to be? Part of this curiosity stems from the fact that this person has no inkling of what games are all about, in our context of gaming. He still clings to the shibboleth that wargamers are classic cases of arrested de- velopment, never having gotten out of the sandbox and toy soldiers syndrome of childhood. He couldn’t perceive the function of a magazine about game-playing. This is what I told him: Magazines exist to disseminate information.
