Many significant achievements from the past year were outlined; including the commencement of construction of the St Kilda Road Senior Living and Community Precinct and receiving approval for 11 service types under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Dianne Gringlas (centre) was awarded the Leo and Mina Jewish Care President, Mike Debinski, reiterated the priority Fink Award. Dianne is seen with Nathan Fink and Susie to grow Jewish Care as “a strong, capable, and sustainable Ivany OAM organisation.” He also acknowledged the efforts which had resulted in more than $21 million being raised as at November 2017 towards a goal of $30 million for Jewish Care’s Capital Campaign, Growing. For Our Community. The AGM approved the re-election of Jeffrey Appel OAM, Andrew Schwartz, Adam Joel and Lisa Kennett to the Board of Governance. In addition, Dianne Gringlas was awarded the Leo and Mina Fink Award, recognising her exceptional voluntary and philanthropic contribution to Jewish Care particularly in the area of disability services. The discussion explored the affordable housing crisis in Victoria; its effects on the Jewish community; and Jewish Care services that support families and individuals experiencing housing strain, including financial counselling, interest free loans, and social and affordable housing.
