Again, thank you to those of you who have supported the school over the past three months. I would also like to especially thank those of you who have taken time to coach school teams this term. Without your assistance we would be unable to provide these opportunities for our students. ONLINE UNIFORM SHOP As mentioned previously, we will be moving our uniform purchases online from Term 4 this year. Our supplier Argyle, will operate this platform for us. The Argyle Online Shop will be available at all times for parents to use. The school will hold a sample range of each item, if you wish to come and physically try uniform on. Uniform will not be available to purchase on Kindo. The new online ordering system will go live via the school website at 9.00am, 14th October. Brochures are available from the school office. OUT OF SCHOOL CARE We are pleased to announce that we will be operating a programme through sKids. The information regarding when, where and how will be sent out separately to you. Please look out for this. CAR PARKING Unfortunately despite our best efforts a small number of parents continue to park in the mobility carparks. Raumati Beach and Kapiti College have decided reluctantly, that the only way forward will be to issue infringement notices to repeat offenders. This will be enforced from the beginning of Term 4. We are delighted to be opening a sKids After School, Before School and Holiday Programme term 4, 2019 at Raumati Beach! sKids consider it a great privilege to support you as parents/caregivers and are committed to providing your Tamariki with opportunities to feel awesome about who they are! Safety is our number 1 priority, so you can be rest assured our staff are fully trained as per Ministry of Social Development requirements. Our programmes offer a variety of activities pitched at different age levels. Hats are $15 each and will still be available to purchase on Kindo or from the school office. HK RUGBY PRIMARY SCHOOLS REPRESENTATIVE TEAM Congratulations to the following students who have been accepted in to the Horowhenua Kapiti Rugby Primary Schools rep team, Alex Johnson, Carlos Dawson, Daniel Lynch, Conner Galway, William Thomson-Coe. Awesome effort! WEARABLE ARTS 2019 Wow all of the students involved looked amazing! They wore their creations with pride and confidence. Each and every one of our year 5-8's had put so much time and energy into making their bespoke creations. They nearly had the whole stage at MFC to themselves because they were such a large group. We would like to thank all of our parents who helped out from the very beginning, and on the day of the event. Also a big thank you again to everyone in our community who donated materials for the students to use. A special shout out to Amanda Nevin who was our seamstress extraordinaire! Rose Adams and Natalie Stone RBS NETBALL TEAMS TAKE HOME THE TROPHIES!! Saturday 21st September saw two of our netball teams battle it out for first place in their respective grades at the Netball Kapiti Finals. RBS Adrenaline with a 33-22 win against KK Kauri secured 1st place in the Primary A1 grade AND the RBS Jaguars with a 32-26 win over Te Horo Red Ferns took home the B1 grade trophy. Well done to both teams and to all of the RBS teams who played this season. To acknowledge the effort and commitment of all our netball players there will be prizegiving in the Learning Street on Thursday 24th October at 3.15pm, followed by a shared afternoon tea. RBS NETBALL COMMITTEE SENIOR WINTER TOURNAMENT Raumati Beach School had a massive group of just over 100 Year 7/8 students represent the school at Senior Winter Sports held in Week 8. For the first time, there was room for both competitive and non-competitive pools. This allowed for more students to compete and try out sports which they may not have tried before. Competitive Team Results: RBS A1 football team 1st RBS Hockey Team 1st RBS Netball - Adrenaline 1st - Jaguars 7th Well done teams! A very special thank you to Sonja Williams (KCDC) Sam Smith (Capital Football), Sue Huss and Carmen (Netball Kapiti), Paul Tessier (Kapiti Hockey) and Ryan Shelford and Ali (HKRFU) and the Paraparaumu College Sports Ambassadors for the organisation of the day.     Attachment i Report [=I DRAFT Page 17 of 121 Paraparaumu Beach, Otaihanga and Riwai Street Bus timetables for these areas have not been shown on the website, because we (Regional Council Transport and Mana Coach Services) are planning to introduce completely new routes and services during the course of 2000. The Changes Most current users of buses in the Paraparaumu Beach area will find that the services they use will be better than before. We hope that the improved services will encourage more people to use the buses so that they can be improved further in the future. There will be two simple, more direct routes instead of the difficult-to- understand circuit routes which operate at present. No more wondering which side of the road to stand on for the next bus to Coastlands! There will be more train connections in peak periods, and there will be Sunday services for the first time. All trips will be operated by low-floor buses to improve access for people who have difficulty using steps, and those carrying shopping or pushing children in buggies. Each route will have buses at least every 30 minutes between 6.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, with extra trips in peak periods to ensure connections with all trains to and from Wellington. The land sold for an average of six pounds per acre. RAUMATI SOUTH SOME IMPORTANT DATES 1912 Herbert & William Eatwell start farming and named the area KAWATIRI. 1920s Sections being sold by Messrs Eatwell & McLennan. Pine trees planted on ridge above Tennis Court Road. About 1930 - Kawatiri reserve set aside and tennis courts laid down Pine Avenue (now Tennis Court Road) built by Bert Eatwell using a horse and scoop Lillian Eatwell opened a small shop in their home selling basic food items. Early 1930s - Urwins built a shop on the comer ofRenown Road and Poplar Avenue, (now named Valhallah). 1930s - 1940s Eatwell family ran Kawatiri guest house - Bert Eatwell farmed cows and milked them in a dairy shed beside the tennis courts. 1934 - Post & telegraph facilities established in Urwins shop. N.Z. Post Office insisted that the name of the area be changed from Kawatiri, as this name 1945 - 1st Oct. Money-order and savings bank facilities added to the post-office. was in use in the Nelson lakes area. Raumati South was chosen as the new name. 1945 - 18th Oct. Presbyterian church opened on land purchased by Mrs.

The ‘circle’is centred on Paekakariki village, includes Pukerua Bay to the south, Raumati South to the north, Mt Wainui and the Akatarawa Forest to the east, and extends off-shore to the west.
