Buenos Aires is often called the “Paris of ,” for its soaring architecture and rich European heritage. But the city and its people, known as porteños, are a study in contrasts: European sensibilities and Latin American passion; wide boulevards and cobblestone alleys and, of course, steamy tango.

Saturday, April 1st—Gauchos and Tango

This morning, we leave the hustle and bustle of he city behind. Our first stop is San Antonio de Areco, the prettiest town in the pampas. The town dates from the early 18th century and preserves many traditions of the gaucho and criollo (people of pure Spanish descent born in the New World), especially among its artisans, who produce fine silverwork and saddlery.

Our next stop is to one of the oldest and most beautiful “estancias” or ranches in Argentina, La Bamba de Areco for a magnificent BBQ, a performance by the magical “horse whisperer” and pure relaxation. Saturday, April 1st—Continued

We return to the hotel late afternoon to prepare for a memorable evening as we experience the passion of the Argentina Tango. Travel back in time to the tango grandeur of the early 1900’s with live music, dancers, singers and even gauchos! Dinner is included.

Overnight M Gallery Hotel

Tango began in Buenos Aires in the late 19th century. The dance started in the lower-class districts taking place in the periphery of the city, bars, cafes and courtyards.
