Even if you've tried a step please do it over in this sequence. If any steps cannot be performed then report it and move on to the next: 2) Make sure you have the latest Windows 10 version 1909 in Settings > System > About and if not skip to Step 10 to install it by the most stable method. 4) Try running the Windows Store apps Troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. 6) If that fails go to Settings>Apps and highlight Microsoft Store, choose Advanced Settings, then Reset. After it resets, restart PC. 7) If that fails then reinstall Store. Type CMD in Start Search, right click Command Prompt result to Run as Administrator, copy the following code and paste it into the box using the Edit tools from Box's top left dropdown menu, press Enter: 8) Clear the LocalCache Folder: Open Run by pressing the Windows key + R hotkey. Copy and paste %localappdata% in Run and click OK. Open Packages> Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe > LocalCache folder. Press the Ctrl + A hotkey to select all content within the LocalCache folder. Press the Delete button. 9) If these all fail then go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki. A common example is the personal computer that nowadays always includes a CPU and a GPU, both capable of executing code, sometimes even in the same integrated circuit package. These are the so called heterogeneous systems. It’s important to be aware that the various processing units aren’t equal, for instance CPUs are very different from GPUs. This raises a problem, since not every task can be executed in all processing units. To solve this problem a new task scheduling algorithm was developed with the aid of SimDag from the SimGrid toolkit. This algorithm uses a DAG (directed acyclic graph) to aid the scheduling of different tasks, be they from a single application or from various different applications. The algorithm is based on the HEFT scheduling algorithm, a greedy algorithm with a short execution time, developed by Topcuoglu et al. This new algorithm is aware of the different pro- cessing units and of the different performance/power levels. This solves the problem of not all tasks being able to be executed in all processing units. Since previous studies show that reducing the CPU clock speed on DVFS (dynamic voltage frequency scaling) CPUs can reduce the energy spent by the CPU while executing various tasks with little increase in runtime.

Anderson The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA [email protected] Abstract Graphics processing units (GPUs) manufactured by NVIDIA continue to dominate many fields of research, including real-time GPU-management. NVIDIA’s status as a key enabling technology for deep learning and image processing makes this unsurprising, especially when combined with the company’s push into embedded, safety-critical domains like autonomous driving. NVIDIA’s primary competitor, AMD, has received comparatively little attention, due in part to few embedded offerings and a lack of support from popular deep-learning toolkits. Recently, however, AMD’s ROCm (Radeon Open Compute) software platform was made available to address at least the second of these two issues, but is ROCm worth the attention of safety-critical software developers? In order to answer this question, this paper explores the features and pitfalls of AMD GPUs, focusing on contrasting details with NVIDIA’s GPU hardware and software. We argue that an open software stack such as ROCm may be able to provide much-needed flexibility and reproducibility in the context of real-time GPU research, where new algorithmic or analysis techniques should typically remain agnostic to the underlying GPU architecture. In support of this claim, we summarize how closed-source platforms have obstructed prior research using NVIDIA GPUs, and then demonstrate that AMD may be a viable alternative by modifying components of the ROCm software stack to implement spatial partitioning.
