CURB-SIDE COLLECTION PROGRAM - For missed curb-side recycling or garbage collection, please call Waste Connections of Canada directly at 705-742-4268. Recycling and/or garbage should be at the curb no later than 7am, on your collection day.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) - The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot is open Wednesdays and Sundays from Sunday, June 3, 2018 to Sunday, September 2, 2018. And then Wednesdays only, from September 5, 2018 to October 3, 2018. The HHW depot is only at the
Anstruther Transfer Station, and is open during Anstruther’s regular business hours.
WASTE ELECTRONICS DROP-OFF - The Anstruther Transfer Station has a bin for Waste Electronics available all year. In addition, the Haultain Transfer Station has a bin for Waste Electronics available from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving.
ORGANICS COLLECTION / DROP OFF - The Anstruther Transfer Station has Moloks for the collection of organic material (e.g. kitchen scraps).
LEAF AND YARD WASTE - Leaf and Yard Waste is accepted at both Transfer Stations, year-round. At certain times of the season, Leaf and Yard Waste may be free of charge.
SCRAP METAL AND APPLIANCES - Both transfer stations accept scrap metal and appliances year-round, free of charge, except when an appliance contains a refrigerant. Tipping fees will apply in this circumstance. Please note that on your Waste Site Pass, one tear-off end has a free punch hole for one appliance containing a refrigerant, such as a refrigerator with Freon.
TIRES - All tires are accepted year-round at both transfer stations, free of charge.
RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION MATERIALS - Accepted at the Anstruther Transfer Station from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving. Please check our website for additional information, including tipping fees and acceptable material.
SPRING CLEAN UP/ENVIRONMENTAL DAY IS SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2018 - This one day only event at the Anstruther Transfer Station includes accepting mattresses and couches, along with all other regular services, and the Seasonal Opening of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot.
