HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS (Monday, April 8 – Sunday, April 14, 2013) and Stan Musial Tribute Night Highlight Homestand of 2013

ST. LOUIS – April 8, 2013 –The Cardinals kick off the 2013 season with today’s home opener against the Central rival Reds and conclude it against the this weekend. The six-game homestand is highlighted by Opening Day, a special tribute game to Cardinals legend Stan Musial and some of the best promotions of the season. Throughout the homestand, ticketed-fans will enjoy several giveaways which include a magnet schedule and Musial sticker on Opening Day, a Stan Musial harmonica and window cling on Friday, a replica of the St. Louis home alternate jersey on Saturday, and the Molina Gold and Platinum Glove giveaway on Sunday.

Monday, April 8, 2013 — Cardinals vs. (3:15 p.m.)

 Cardinals Official Opening Day Pre-Game Pep Rally, sponsored by Hardee’s: The Cardinals and Hardee’s will host a pre-game pep rally in front of the Cardinals Team Store, located at the corner of Clark Street and 8th Street from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local rock band Trixie Delight will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Team Fredbird will be on hand to give away tickets, autographed items and other Cardinals prizes. Fans can stop by the free Hardee’s Photo Booth to get their Opening Day photo taken from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Fans can also purchase a Hardee’s Combo Meal after regular breakfast hours from the Mobile Diner or Hardee’s restaurant on Chestnut and receive a free Cardinals t-shirt while supplies last. Other sponsors include: , Dunkin Donuts, Fox Theatre, FOX Sports Midwest, Krispy Kreme, The Muny, Rawlings, Scotts, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and The Tan Company.

 Budweiser Magnet Schedule Day: All ticketed-fans, ages 21 and over, will receive a magnet with the 2013 Cardinals schedule, compliments of Budweiser Beer. Gates open at 1:15 p.m.

 Clydesdales: The famed Budweiser Clydesdales will be on hand to celebrate the return of to St. Louis with their annual pre-game lap around the warning track. Fans can see the Clydesdales pre-game as they will begin staging at 1 p.m. near Poplar Street and Broadway at Gate 1.

 Remembering Stan: Opening Day marks the first time the Cardinals family will be together at for a game since the passing of Stan Musial earlier this year. On Opening Day, and throughout the 2013 season, the Cardinals will honor the legacy of the team’s greatest player who personified the Cardinal Way. The team is wearing a jersey patch throughout the season, and on Monday Stan and Lillian Musial’s four children, Dick Musial, Gerry Ashley, Janet Schwarze, and Jean Edmonds will unveil a memorial marker in left center field as part of the Opening Day ceremony. All fans will also receive a #6 sticker to honor Stan.

 Pre-game Ceremony: The pre-game ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m. and kicks off the 2013 season with the famed Budweiser Clydesdales and appearances from Missouri Governor Jeremiah “Jay” Nixon, St. Louis County Executive Charlie A. Dooley, St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay, Fredbird, Team Fredbird and an American Bald Eagle, courtesy of the World Bird Sanctuary. The ceremony will feature all four of the team’s Commissioner’s Trophies from each of those World Championship teams (’67, ’82, ’06, and ’11), as well as the introduction of the Cardinals Hall of Famers and 2013 Cardinals via a Ford motorcade.

 Anthem: The National Anthem will be performed by six members of the Gateway Harmonica Club of St. Louis. Stan Musial was an honorary member of the club. Scott Sir Force Base will present the colors and American Flag in center field.

 Moment of Silence: There will be a moment of silence for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, as well as a moment of silence for baseball great and St. Louis native Earl Weaver, former Cardinals Chuck Diering, longtime organist Ernie Hayes, longtime Redbird Roost attendant Fanny Scholl, and the greatest Cardinal, Hall of Famer Stan Musial.

 Charity Haircuts in the Plaza sponsored by Great Clips: During the game, fans can root on their team and shape up their roots with a visit to Ford Plaza for Great Clips’ Charity Haircuts.  KSDK First Alert Weather Bash at Busch: The Cardinals and KSDK News Channel 5 are hosting a weather bash at 9:30 a.m. to educate kids about the weather and its effects on the environment. This educational program, geared towards elementary and middle school students, teaches children about weather, and includes science experiments from Mad Science, an educational expo and tickets to the game all for just $16. Friday, April 12, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers (7:15 p.m.)

 Celebrating Stan the Man: Friday’s game is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Stan “the Man” Musial. The Musial Family will take part in a pre-game ceremony which includes ceremonial pitches and the dedication of a plaque in Stan’s honor. Members of the Gateway Harmonica Club of St. Louis will play for fans throughout the ballpark. Fans will be asked to join in by playing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” on their harmonicas in the middle of the 6th inning as part of the night-long tribute to Stand the Man (hashtag: #6).

 Stan Musial Harmonica Night: Ticketed-fans, ages 16 and older, will take home a one-of-a-kind collectible Stan Musial harmonica and commemorative box.

 Musial Tribute Window Cling: All ticketed-fans will receive a #6 commemorative window cling that honors the greatest Cardinal, Stan Musial. The cling resembles the honorary patch Cardinals players will be wearing on the left sleeve of their jerseys throughout the 2013 season.

 Budweiser Bash Friday: Enjoy live music, prizes, the Budweiser Build-a-Bar, and autographs in the Ford Plaza from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. The first 200 fans to line up at the Busch Bash entrance (Gate 5), starting at 4:30 p.m., will be given guaranteed autograph line tickets for current Cardinals reliever Trevor Rosenthal. Only fans with autograph tickets will receive an autograph. Budweiser Bash Fridays are sponsored by Busch Beer.

 MLBPAA Auction: The Players Alumni Association will conduct a baseball-themed silent auction inside Gate 3, Gate 1, UMB Champions Club, and the Cardinals Club from the time gates open through the seventh inning. All proceeds will benefit Cardinals Care and the Players Alumni Association, a non-profit group that strives to preserve the game of baseball while supporting a variety of charities.

Jersey Raffle: The Cardinals and On the Run at Mobil are giving fans the chance to win an authentic #42 game-worn autographed jersey from Jackie Robinson Day and two Cardinals tickets to the August 7th home game vs. the Dodgers. Fans can purchase raffle tickets at Gate 3 or from roaming volunteers in lime-green shirts. Raffle tickets can also be purchased at area On the Run at Mobil locations. The money raised will go to the Jackie Robinson Foundation & Cardinals Care.

Saturday, April 13, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers (3:15 p.m.)

 Alternate “St. Louis” Jersey Debut: For the first time in more than 80 years, the team will wear an alternate uniform on Saturday home games that will feature “St. Louis in place of the “Cardinals” on the jersey. The jersey and matching pants feature an off-white color, red piping, and the player on the front.

 Adult Replica Alternate Jersey Day: The players aren’t the only ones who get to where the new Cardinals jersey this summer. Thanks to Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels, 25,000 ticketed-fans, ages 21 and older, will take home a replica alternate jersey.

 Celebrating SLU’s A-10 Championship: Members of the 2012-2013 St. Louis University basketball team will be on hand for a special pre-game ceremony celebrating their successful season and A-10 Championship. Interim Head Coach Jim Crews will throw the ceremonial pitch, and the Cardinals will pay tribute to late head coach Rick Majerus.

Sunday, April 14, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers (1:15 p.m.)

Replica Gold and Platinum Glove Award: Rawlings is sending home 25,000 ticketed-fans, ages 16 and older, with a replica of Yadier Molina’s gold and platinum glove award.

 Rawlings Gold and Platinum Glove Award Ceremony: In a ceremony prior to the game, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will receive his 2012 Rawlings Gold and Platinum Glove awards. Gold Gloves are awarded annually for fielding excellence, and this marks Yadi’s fifth consecutive award. Molina becomes the first Cardinals player since Jim Edmonds to receive a for that many consecutive seasons. Molina will also receive his second consecutive Rawlings Platinum Glove Award, a fan-voted honor, established in 2011, which distinguishes Molina as the overall best defensive player in the National League for 2012. – more –

Cardinals Work “4 A Greener Game” The Green Team is a group of volunteers who walk down the aisles of the seating bowl in-between innings collecting recyclables from fans and promoting recycling at Busch Stadium. In exchange for their services, volunteers are able to watch the game in standing room only sections of Busch Stadium, as collections are only done in-between innings and during pitching changes so as not to disturb fans trying to watch the game. Cardinals in the Community Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way of teaming up with Cardinals players and the Cardinals organization to help children in our community – both on and off the . Since it was established in 1997, Cardinals Care has invested nearly $19 million in helping children, including providing nearly $11 million in grants to over 800 non-profit youth organizations, and building 19 youth ball fields in neighborhoods in both Missouri and Illinois.

Cardinals Care’s Redbird Rookies program, a free league for boys and girls who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play baseball, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013. In addition to providing all the uniforms, gloves, bats, balls, and other equipment needed for each team in over 20 leagues in Missouri and Illinois, Redbird Rookies also provides extensive off-field support in the areas of health, education, mentoring, and the cultural arts for each of the nearly 4,500 kids who participate in the program each year.

 Dynamic Deals of the Week: The Cardinals’ value-based dynamic pricing system allows them to offer outstanding ticket savings to fans throughout the season. Special values will be highlighted each Monday as part of the “Dynamic Deals of the Week” promotion. Since the launch of dynamic pricing last season, 77% of games were priced lower in 2012 than 2011, with nearly 40% of games having tickets priced for $5 or less.  KMOX 1120 First Pitch Tickets: The Cardinals are pleased to team up with KMOX 1120 to offer the KMOX 1120 First Pitch Tickets. At 9 a.m. on the day of each game, fans may purchase a voucher good for two tickets to that day’s game for a total cost of $11.20 ($5.60 per ticket). The voucher may be redeemed for tickets 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the game. The tickets may be anywhere in the park, depending on availability.
