TAN SRI LIM KANG HOO CONFERRED “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD”

CHONGQING (CHINA), Fri. (Dec 5, 2014): Prominent Malaysian businessman Tan Sri Lim Kang Hoo was among eight leading personalities conferred the “Lifetime Achievement Award” during the 6th World Chinese Economic Forum in Chongqing, China last night.

Lim, who is executive vice-chairman of construction group, Ekovest Bhd and sits on the board of several other listed entities. He is also the executive vice-chairman of Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd, which is the master-developer of prime waterfront real estate in Johor Bahru.

The prestigious award was in recognition of his outstanding leadership in construction and property developments in .

The award was conferred on him by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri during the opening gala dinner of the forum. Also present was the Minister of Transport Datuk Seri and Chongqing City vice-mayor, Mr Liu Qiang.

More than 3,000 participants from 30 countries are attending the forum, which is organized by the China Council for Promotion of International Trade and the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli)

Since its inception, over 40 Lifetime Achievement Awards have been conferred on people who have distinguished themselves in government, business, civil society and the arts.

Previous recipients of the ward include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, MUI Group chairman Tan Sri Khoo Kay Peng, YTL Corp chairman Tan Sri Tiong Lay, Berjaya Group Founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan, Genting Malaysia chairman Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay and former CEO of SP Setia Group Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin.

Lim, 59, is the visionary behind the creation of Danga Bay as Johor Bahru’s new business, leisure and entertainment destination. He is now actively involved in the transformation of an entire 8km stretch of the JB coastline into the new Iskandar Integrated Waterfront City. - Ends
