Prices for exceptional Canada including covers, classic issues and varieties were strong throughout, and the Provinces section as well as the British Commonwealth and Foreign material also held their own. This auction contains over 2400 lots in four sessions, the first three being all Canada and Canadian Provinces. We begin with the usual large section of envelopes, collections and box lots, then some better Postal History and the first session finishes with Pence, First Cents and an extensive offering of Large Queen issues. The second session includes Small Queens with several important items such as imperforate Plate Pieces and Die Proofs and continues up to Admirals, the latter with better Plate and Lathework pieces, etc. The third session has modern varieties and better ‘back-of-the-book’ issues including Semi-Official Airmails and Postage Dues and ends with a good showing of Provinces including some better covers. The last session contains Great Britain, British Commonwealth and strong Foreign with many larger lots, better Topicals, Zeppelin covers, lots of France and Germany, better USA including covers, etc, and there is sure to be something of interest for everyone. On-line participation in our auctions continues to grow, and every sale we receive record numbers of bids by email. Please be aware that we do confirm receipt of your electronic bidsheet if sent to [email protected], so you will always know we have received it. If using web-based services such as Stamp Auction Network, we receive your bids almost immediately and you will also have your own bidding confirmation from them, so we definitely encourage both these electronic methods of bidding. Second-best are bid-sheets by fax or phone, as you will also have confirmation from us or your fax machine that your bids have been received. Bids sent through the postal system are usually, but not always received
