Thursday, January 16, 2014 – Room 5104 08:30 Coffee 09:00 Review of Yesterday, Charge for today & Discussions – Dewey Topics TBD, but could/should include: What are key gaps in our knowledge driving the near-term research objectives and what can be measured to address them? Are we collecting the right long-term observations? What specifically needs to be done to support MEOPAR and other active initiatives? What might a coordinated observing program look like? When? (10:30 Health Break) What resources/systems are needed and when/how are they allocated? What observing systems will be available and who will lead efforts to bring these resources to the table? Getting ships & boats, and platforms to work from Who/what is missing? Linkages with other programs/initiatives 12:00 Lunch Break - Provided Discussion on known issues with ONC sensors and data systems How can we improve ONC data products and delivery? Managing ONC observatory assets: BC Ferries, Profiler, Gliders, CODAR Next steps and timelines in coordinating a 2015 observing program (14:00 Health Break) Break-out groups as necessary: Room 5104 & 5108 - MEOPAR – coordinated way forward - Gliders: sharing resources, mission planning/parameters and sensors - BC Ferries & CODAR: now and in the future - Falkor 2013 Cruise Discussion
