YOU ARE INVITED!

The 23rd Annual

Wednesday, April 1, 2020

The “Gandhi-King Season For ” is an International Intergenerational Annual Celebration of the philosophies and lives of historical figures Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Designed to honor their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.

It is a 64-day period spanning from January 30th (the day was assassinated in 1948) through April 4th (the day Dr. King was assassinated in 1968). Observance events globally can and do occur at any time between January 30th and April 4th.

Since its establishment the dynamic Culminating Educational Observance Event in NYC has often had many prominent historical guests, along with community leaders, educators, and powerful, wonderful youth presentations and performances. Under the direction of The Institute For International Leadership, Nonviolence and Service in the past few years this important event has found a new home at The New York Society for Ethical Culture.

Gandhi-King SFN launched in 1998 at the United Nations with members of the Gandhi & King families. Since then using an ‘omni-local’ model of citizen empowerment in over 900 cities in 67 countries, local organizing groups that use nonviolent principles & practices have taken up being a part of it.

We have tentatively scheduled the next big “23rd Annual Gandhi-King Season For Nonviolence” Culminating Educational Event for April 1, 2020! There are opportunities for students to present, perform and attend. All are welcome at this Annual Intergenerational Educational Event. We hope to have you and your school, youth organization or community involved!
