On this “people-to-people” program, there will be many opportunities to meet talented artists, museum directors, architects and musicians. Immerse yourself in Cuba’s rich culture and fascinating history, and delight in its warm hospitality. Joining us will be Amelia Peck, the Marica F. Vilcek Curator in the Department of American Decorative Arts and Manager of the Henry R. Luce Center for the study of American Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Accommodations are at the elegant Saratoga Hotel in the heart of atmospheric Old Havana, which we will discover on a guided walk. Meet some of Cuba’s leading artists on visits to their studios and homes, and at a private reception at the Ludwig Foundation for the Arts. Take a curatorial tour of the National Museum of Fine Arts, and admire the beautiful craftsmanship on display during a special after-hours visit and reception at the Ceramics Museum. We will also see Ernest Hemingway’s evocative country retreat, Finca la Vigía, in nearby San Francisco de Paula.
