Pankanhergaon & Wadhona , Taluka – Sengaon District – Hingoli PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR STONE QUARRY - 3.17 ha VILLAGE - PANKANHERGAON & WADHONA , TALUKA – SENGAON DISTRICT – HINGOLI M/S SHIVALAYA CONSTRUCTION CO. PVT. LTD. ENVIRO TECHNO CONSULT PVT.LTD. 68 , MAHAKALI NAGAR MANEWADA HINGOLI 440010 PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY M/s Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. proposes to extract stone metal from 3.17 ha from their Pankanhergaon & Wadhona site at Pankanhergaon & Wadhona village, Taluka – Sengaon of Hingoli district. This lease is being worked for aggregate /stone – metal as building construction material. There is a crusher unit over the lease area to ensure beneficiation of extracted stone for desired uses. Validity of lease is 5 years. Khasra nos. covering mineable deposits are 341,343,803 Part and are shown in Figure 1 . Talathi Map M/s Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. is environmentally conscious and thus is aware of latest rules & regulations of MOEF, New Delhi. Accordingly, it has started environmental monitoring in & around the lease area. CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION This chapter contains brief information on the proposed project and its relevance to the region and the proponent. The project: M/s Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. proposes to extract stone metal from an 3.17 ha lease area. Mining will be mechanical with drilling, blasting, loading and transportation within mine to the crushers equipped with screens, conveyors. Extracted basalt rocks will be properly beneficiated to products which will be aggregate of stones / stone metal ‘gitti’ of different sizes (12-20; 6-12 & 0-6 mm) and manufactured sand. Proposed total production is 97 brass/day which will need ROM @ 110 brass/day (Inclusive of overburden & weathered rock). Location: Lease is located at village boundary of Pankanhergaon & Wadhona in Sengaon taluka of Hingoli district. This site has been selected and approved by Director Mining Geology, Maharashtra. This area is covered by Deccan traps and consists of basalt. Please see Plate 1. Figure -1: Location Map Justification of the project Demand for building material, road metal will be perpetual in Sengaon, around the selected site and for road. Site is located at 1 km distance from Wadhona and 7 km close to Risod. Proposed project for production of material (sized stone metal) which is the basic raw material -input to road and building construction activities. Economics of these both activities depends on the lead to the user agency. Also, demand for ‘manufactured sand’ is growing as observed during market search. Extraction of basalt and its crushing will be compatible with ‘environmental setting’ and transportation of the ‘produce ‘from the site will be economical. This project ensures employment to almost 19 local persons. Many have been already employed and have adequate experience .In addition indirect in trades related to mining e.g. transportation, work shop will be available. Ltd. Wadhona CHAPTER 2 PROJECT DETAILS It has been mentioned earlier that this project is for mining of stone metal from Khasra numbers 341,343,803 Part . These are parts of an 3.17 ha lease located near village Pankanhergaon & Wadhona in Sengaon taluka of Hingoli district. This site is shown in Figure 1. Alternate sites Deposits in existing area were worked earlier by another agency. This area has been ear marked for quarrying stone metal. Mining has been permitted by Director, Geology & Mining. Lease is possession of proponent. There are no sensitive receptors around the lease. Proposed operations Dominant activities will be 1. Mechanical mining of ROM @ 110 brass/day . 2. Production of marketable materials/ aggregate (0 -6, 6-12 & 12-20 mm) along with manufactured sand. 1. Mining: Mining will involve drilling, blasting, loading of mined materials into tippers, unloading the tipper into a jaw crusher, screening and segregation of materials of different sizes and transportation to destination. ROM will be @ 110 brass/day. 2. The process It is estimated that about @110 brass/day.ROM will yield about @ 97 brass/day.of finished product- per month. These will be located over 3.17 ha area. Blasting & drilling will be below ground level. CHAPTER 3 SITE ANALYSIS 3.0 The site is near village Pankanhergaon & Wadhona . It is about 7 km from Rosob. It is near by Risod Pankanhergaon Road. Name of Village Pankanhergaon & Wadhona Taluka , District And State Sengaon , Hingoli , Maharastra Longitude 19°54'6.40"N Lattitude 76°48'6.70"E Altitude 562 m Any Forest, River, Water body etc 16 km CHAPTER 4 CONCLUSIONS 4.0 It has been stated that M/s Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. are already operating a composite project involving basalt rock mining with opencast highly mechanized mine working. It has established a regular infrastructure with adequate capacity. 4.1 Present production cost is about Rs. 300 per/ MT on an average. Capital investment is Rs.55-60 lacs. It is expected that some additional investment may be necessary as per the requirement in near future. Present working is for single shift. 4.2 M/s Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. project has provided employment to 18 persons at present. 4.3 It can thus be concluded that the project is environmentally compatible, financially viable and would be in the interest of construction industry thereby indirectly benefiting the masses. Moreover employment to local people will be an additional advantage. CHAPTER 5 Environmental impacts due to existing & proposed activities 5.0 Maharshtra State Environment Appraisal Committee has desired estimation of environmental impacts due to existing and also the proposed activities during a project. Main activity at the site at Pankanhergaon & Wadhona has been stone quarrying and crushing . This report includes information on impacts on land, ambient air, noise levels,water and partly socio-economic status. 5.1 Environmental setting : This lease area of 3.17 ha is part of rugged topography. Area is a part of Deccan traps. Soil & murrum layer is 0.5-1.5m and are underlain by hard basalt up to 10-20m. Tree cover is scanty and there are habitations within 1.0 km from the site. Sensitive ecosystems do not exist .

    Scanned with CamScanner DISTRICT SURVEY REPORT-HINGOLI CHPATER -1 INTRODUCTION As per Gazette Notification of 15th January, 2016 of Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change a survey shall be carried out by the District Environment Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) with assistance of Irrigation department, Drainage department, Forest department, Mining department and Revenue department in district of preparation of District Survey Report as per the sustainable sand mining guidelines, 2016 to ensure identification of area of aggradations or deposition where mining can be allowed, and identification of areas of erosion and proximity to infrastructural structures and installation where mining should be prohibited and calculation of annual rate of replenishment and allowing time for replenishment after mining in thatarea. Every effort has been made to cover sand mining locations, areas and overviews of mining activity in the district with all the relevant features pertaining to geology and mineral wealth in replenish- able and non-replenish-able areas of rivers, stream and other sources. The mineral potential is calculated based on field investigation taking coordinates of the area and gather all relevant information and geology of the catchment area of the river or stream. Also as per the site condition and location depth of mineable mineral is defined. The area of removal of mineral in the river and stream is decided on geomorphology and other factors, it can be 50% to 60% of the area of a particular river or stream. This District Survey Report shall form the basis of application for environmental, preparation of reports and appraisal of projects. HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: The district „Hingoli‟ was created bifurcating the Parbhani district and formed on 24th April 1999.

From each village five representative soil samples were collected and from each tahsil twenty villages were selected. Hundred samples were collected from each tahsil and total 200 soil samples were collected from Hingoli and Sengaon tahsil. Available N content of Hingoli soils were -1 -1 ranged from 105.62 to 457.85 Kg ha with a mean value of 183.04 Kg ha. The available K e yw or ds phosphorus content in these soils were varied from 5.28 to 20.07 Kg ha-1 with a mean -1 value of 10.09 Kg ha . The available potassium content varies from 129.70 to 1053.40 Kg Nutrient, ha-1 with an average value of 498.59 Kg ha-1 K. Soils from Sengaon tahsils varies in Mapping, -1 -1 Fertility, available N from 112.88 to 313.60 Kg ha with an average value of 216.42 Kg ha .
