2019 AYWPC seedings explained:

The 2019 Australian Youth seedings have been established applying the following principles and guidelines:

• Final rankings at 2017 and 2018 National Championships form the base of the seeding • Team positions at each of the above National Championships are attributed to the State (not to the particular team or club) • Composite club teams have been excluded from final rankings • Teams (State positions) which only participated in either 2017 or 2018 have been allocated proportional weighing as per below o 12&U: no seeding applicable; teams will go into the draw based on State origin and ranking where possible or based on 2018 14&U o 14&U: final rankings of 2017 and 2018 equally weigh for the 2019 seeding o 16&U: final rankings of 2017 14&U weigh for 100%, final rankings of 2018 16&U weigh for 50% o 18&U: final rankings of 2017 16&U weigh for 100%, final rankings of 2018 18&U weigh for 50%

2019 AYWPC draw explained:

• Teams have been allocated to the State positions as per State Organisations’ rankings provided to Water Polo by each State • Teams went into protected draw lines as per FINA Guidelines (WP Guide 2017-2021) • Draw lines are determined by the particular Championship Competition Format • Draw Guiding Principle 1: Groups will require a minimum of four (4) teams, unless required due to number of teams in that particular division • Draw Guiding Principle 2: Within any group of three (3) teams a second chance game will be played between the number two and three; the aggregate score will be applied to final group ranking • Draw Guiding Principle 3: Teams will play a minimum of nine (9) games in the Championships
