ADAM HILLS Mess Around Assembly Hall: Rainy Hall 2Nd – 19 Th August at 19.40 EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL 2012 Presents ADAM HILLS Mess Around Assembly Hall: Rainy Hall 2nd – 19 th August at 19.40 ‘Hills is astonishingly good at what he does’ --- Chortle 'Stand up so effortlessly brilliant you wonder why some comedians even get out of bed' ––– The Guardian 'Hills is comedy sunshine and its rather nice to bask in his glow.' ––– The Scotsman In 2010 Adam based his Edinburgh show around the audience, made a stuffed toy a hero, and raised cash for the Sick Kids. He's back to do it all again. Everyone’s favourite Antipodean comedian and the nicest man in comedy (**fact**), 2012 Logie Most Popular Presenter award-winner and triple Perrier Nominee Adam Hills returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August with his critically acclaimed show Mess Around. Adam will be performing at the AssemblyAssembly Hall at 7.40pm for a limited run only from 333rdrdrd ––– 191919 ththth August. A sign interpreter will also be joining Adam on stage every Sunday evening. Mess Around sees Adam throw any script out of the window and devote his entire show to improvised fun with his audience. Anything can happen on stage ... and it often does! Mess Around shows Adam at his spontaneous best, feeding off stories taken from the audience with a theme which evolves throughout the show’s run. No script, no plan, no idea. During its sold out 2010 Edinburgh run, Mess Around saw Adam hold a staged wedding with a member of the audience; raise over £8,000 for a children’s hospital in an impromptu charity drive with the aid of ‘Honker’ (a soft toy gift from an audience member during his first show); and enlist the help of comedian friends to hold a charity auction involving Jason Byrne’s underpants and plenty of chaos. Refreshing and unique, Adam makes the audience and their stories the stars of the show while he conducts the action with his trademark laid-back style with unpredictable and hilarious consequences. Three times nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award, Adam’s solo shows are established highlights at the Adelaide Fringe, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe, where he regularly sells over 10,000 tickets in the month. He has also been awarded Australia’s Helpman Award for Best Comedy Performance , and has received the Best of the Fest, and Forth Fringe Award from Edinburgh Fringe critics. As the host of his own music quiz show in Australia, Spicks and Specks , Adam Hills is seen by more than 1.2 people on a weekly basis. He has also just hosted his very own chat show on ABC Australia entitled Adam Hills in Gordon St Tonight . His UK TV appearances include Live at the Apollo (BBC ONE), Mock The Week (BBC 2), For all press enquiries, press tickets, interviews requests and images please contact: Alison Peters or Beth Hayworth at Alison Peters PR [email protected] 07810 238 851 /[email protected] 07580 983 361 EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL 2012 The Charlotte Church Show (Channel 4) and Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC TWO). He has also presented his own half-hour special on Comedy Central as well as hosting two series of Four At The Store (BBC Radio 4), 4 in a Field (BBC Radio 4) and co-presented We Say Tomay-to on Radio 2.
