Road closures and Special Event Clearways will be in place on Sunday 26 January 2020 in Sydney CBD, The Rocks, Dawes Point, Millers Point, Barangaroo, and Milsons Point for Australia Day in Sydney. Celebrations will take place in Sydney CBD and on Sydney Harbour throughout the day and evening. The NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet plans and delivers Australia Day on behalf of the Australia Day Council.

The event programme starts at 7:45am at Barangaroo Reserve and finishes at 9:30pm at Circular Quay. Events take place throughout the day and evening on Sydney Harbour, at The Rocks, West Circular Quay, Circular Quay East, Darling Harbour and Milsons Point. Harbour events run from 10:45am when the Ferrython starts, to 4:00pm

Australia Day Live at Circular Quay is scheduled to run from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Multiple fireworks displays are integrated in the program, culminating in the show finale between 9:15pm and 9:30pm. It has a capacity of 65,000 along the eastern and western foreshore of Sydney Cove, with approximately one-third accommodated at East Circular Quay and Sydney Opera House western promenade, and two-thirds at West Circular Quay and The Rocks. No viewing will be available from the Circular Quay southern promenade, Circular Quay train station, or the Cahill Expressway Walkway.

A free, ticketed concert will take place on the Sydney Opera House forecourt between 7:30pm and 9:30pm as part of the Australia Day Live program, with a capacity of close to 6000 patrons. Historically this event reaches capacity.

A reduced speed limit of 40km/hr will apply on Sydney Harbour Bridge between 8:00pm and 9:30pm.

Australia Day 2020 - SETTI v1.docx 1 15 The Cahill Expressway overpass walk (The Cahill Walk) will be closed to pedestrians between 4:00pm and 9:30pm, with no access from The Royal Botanic Garden, Macquarie Street, East Circular Quay, or The Rocks.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge Walkway and Cycleway will remain open.

Access to and from carparks within road closures will not be available. Police may restrict vehicle access along closed roads, including for residents and businesses.

Special Event Clearways will be in place in Sydney CBD and Milsons Point at different times between 3:00am and midnight. Motorists are advised to check signs before parking as vehicles in special event clearways will be towed and fines apply.

Accessible drop off and pick up points will be available at the following locations. These locations are not available for parking. A current mobility pass must be displayed in the window. Vehicles left unattended are subject to towing.
