MARCH /APRIL: 2021 THE BANKS PROJECT MAR/APR MONTHLY REPORT The Banks Public Partnership’s Phase IIIB construction progress kept pace in March and April. n Public Parties infrastructure crews worked on completing the Race Street Corridor (turnaround and stairs), acquiring a temporary certificate of occupancy for expanded parking, and adding sports turf to the ICON Music Center’s event lawn. The ICON Music Center construction focused on interior details as the project moved even closer to completion. n Officials announced plans for a alkW of Fame to honor local Black music icons to be constructed near the ICON Music Center. The Banks bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues celebrated the opening of DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area). n As a focal point of the 85-acre DORA site, transformation of Freedom Way between Joe Nuxhall Way and Marian Spencer Way into a public plaza began with installation of gateway bollards and planters. n Opening Day attracted baseball fans to , Freedom Way’s DORA, and to The Banks businesses. With the River reaching 56.9' in March, parts of Smale Riverfront Park and the Ohio River Walk experienced high water for several days. served as a COVID-19 Vaccination site in April.

The Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) opened in March. Workers built temporary barriers to close Freedom Way East (from Joe Nuxhall Way to Marian Spencer Way) to vehicular traffic, allowing patrons to move freely within the DORA boundaries with beverages in specially marked cups.
