    LA MILANESIANA 2019 LETTERATURA MUSICA CINEMA SCIENZA ARTE FILOSOFIA TEATRO DIRITTO E ECONOMIA LA SPERANZA Gli anniversari ci sono per essere oltrepassati. Anzi sono già oltrepassati quando li si celebra. Eppure non posso non fermarmi a ricordare. Non mi è estraneo un senso di orgoglio compiuto per il tragitto, ma anche un sentimento di nostalgia. Mi mancano amici di questi venti anni che, della Milanesiana, sono stati l’anima: Umberto Eco, Luciano Emmer, Carmelo Bene, Giovanni Reale, Paolo Terni, Michael Cimino, Lucio Dalla, Fernanda Pivano, George Romero e Sergio Claudio Perroni, per citarne solo alcuni. È per non sentire il morso di questa nostalgia che il programma di questa ventesima edizione è un continuo rilancio, una moltiplicazione nel tempo e nello spazio, una sfida fisica e intellettuale ancora più audace. Un mese e mezzo di Milanesiana, in 14 città: oltre che a Milano, per la prima volta saremo a Roma, Venezia, Brescia, al Vittoriale degli Italiani a Gardone, a Pavia, a Lodi, ad Alessandria; torneremo a Bergamo, Torino, Verbania, Bormio, Ascoli Piceno, Firenze; presenteremo 13 mostre, alcune delle quali in anteprima mondiale, e un florilegio di scrittori da tutto il mondo, musicisti, filosofi, uomini di teatro e di scienza; e, ancora, abbiamo ispessito la tela che lega festival disseminati non solo a Milano (Bookcity e Bookpride) ma su tutta la penisola (il Salone del Libro di Torino, il festival Letterature di Roma, Il libro possibile di Polignano, Collisioni, per citarne alcuni). Master’s Student Jeremy Wilson Wins a Position in the Vienna Philharmonic Fortepiano Exciting Acquisition— a First for the College of Music rriving in spring 2007 from the McNulty workshop in the Czech Republic, this gorgeous fortepiano, an 1805 Walter und Sohn copy, Ahas already become an important educational and performance tool within the College of Music. Many, many thanks are due to Professor Emeritus Michael Collins, philanthropist Paul Voertman and the National Endowment for the Arts for their generosity that enabled us to purchase this instrument. One of its most interesting uses has been the recording project planned in conjunction with an upcoming book by UNT musicology alumnus James “Chip” Parsons, Professor of Music at Missouri State University and a former student of Professor Collins. A-R Editions will publish Dr. Parsons’ book on early alternate settings of Schiller’s poem “An die Freude” (heard in the famous last movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony). The accompanying CD, coordinated by UNT faculty Elvia Puccinelli, will include selections based on the facsimile scores included in the book.
