Gaetano Ciranni, is the second issue of the recent series Quaderni di “In Cammino” (Notes “Along a Journey). In Cammino (Along a Journey) is a magazine, conceived as a supplement to the Studi Rogazionisti, is born as an aid to Rogationist formation, i.e., to accompany the new phase of the ongoing formation desired by the IX General Chapter (1998) and promoted by the X General Chapter (2004) with the approval of the Project of Rogationist Ongoing Formation drawn up by the Government General during their six-year term, 1998-2004. So far, the magazine, which has been published without a precise chronological deadline but occasionally as needed, has come out with two initial issues (Supplement to numbers 65-66 and 67 of the Studi Rogazionisti) and several special issues dedicated to particular moments of formation at the level of the Congregation, such as the annual Conference of the Superiors of Circumscription (2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), the International Meetings of Formators (2002, 2005, 2008), and the Seminars on the Rogationist Priestly Alliance (2007-2008). The new series, which always pursue formative goals, are published research studies of individual Rogationist confreres who want to offer their organic and systematic contribution on the topics on Rogationist Formation. 8 Notes on the English edition 1. Citations a. Quotations from Church documents are taken from official translations as published in http://www.vatican.va. b. The English translation of Bible quotes are taken from the Revised Standard Version. In his writings, the Founder quotes the Bible in Latin using the Vulgate version. Some of these, particularly the Psalms, do not correspond to the current chapter and verse numbering. In these cases, the English translation is taken from the Duoay-Rheims 1899 version. c. The Author wrote these Notes in 2010. Understandably, he was quoting the Constitutions and Norms of the 1980 and 1998 editions. For integration, this English edition also reports texts of the current Constitutions of 2010 in some related topics. d. Quotations from the Declarations and Promises are taken from Appendix I of the English edition of the Constitutions of 2010. Most of the quotations from the documents of the Congregation are taken from the official English translations but retaining the reference to the pages in the Italian original. 2. Editor’s Notes a. The translators and editor have included in the English edition some notes which they deemed important to better render the meaning of a term, expression, or context. In-text notes are enclosed in parentheses, ex. (= word), while the footnotes are marked with an asterisk and EN for Editor’s Note (* EN:). 9 Foreword I often read manuscripts for publication. But since I am not “in charge of the works,” I always do it with some difficulty, mainly for lack of time, but sometimes also for the nature and content of the texts. However, it was not for this volume. I was immediately attracted to it. First, for the topic itself, because it concerns me as a Rogationist; but also for its style: clear, passionate, and engaging. The topic is all contained in the title: The Rogate: Charism of the Rogationists. The style is immediately indicated by the subtitle: Notes, Testimonies, Teachings On the meaning of the title, or the subject of the volume, there is nothing to clarify.

THE WAY WE SEE OUR WORK Being Clay in the Potter’s Hand. (Jeremiah 18:6) Fr. Evans Shang, SD A TALK DELIVERED DURING THE KUMBO DEANERY CLERGY RECOLLECTION, AT THE SAINT JEROME’S BIBLICAL AND PASTORAL CENTRE – KUMBO, TH ON TUESDAY, 9 JUNE 2020 OPENING PRAYER O Spirit of God, we ask you to help orient all our actions by your inspirations, carry them on by your gracious assistance, that every prayer and work of ours may always begin from you and through you be happily ended.1 INTRODUCTION Sometime in late November 2016, in the Gregorian University in Rome, a Jesuit Priest and Professor was giving a lesson in one compulsory Spirituality Course, dealing with Ignatian Spirituality2. During his introductory remarks, about the characteristics of Ignatian Spirituality, he asked us, the licentiate students: “What is the difference between a Jesuit Priest who obviously is Religious, and a Diocesan Priest who obviously isn’t Religious?”. Some silence followed. Looking around and seeing no hand up, one licentiate student, a Diocesan Priest, from Kumbo in Cameroon, timidly raised up his right hand. The Professor nodded in affirmation, and the Priest confidently answered aloud: “The difference is clear: A Jesuit Priest brings Jesus to the people, while a Diocesan Priest takes the people to Jesus”. The silence in the aula was broken by some light laughter. Then, the apparently puzzled Professor now smiled and said: “Please, let’s proceed”. 1 M. • The Feast of All Saints in the Divine Will
The Feast of All Saints In the Divine Will From the Writings of The Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta The Little Daughter of the Divine Will All Saints Many of the greatest Saints of both the old and new Testaments are referred to in Luisa’s life and writings. Each of these Saints is known in particular for one or more heroic virtues that identify and make them unique from other Saints. Luisa possessed all their virtues to an exceeding degree being surpassed only by the Blessed Virgin Mary, and our Lord Jesus. Luisa does share with them the greatest of all gifts—the living in the Divine Will. Luisa did not have the gift of the Immaculate Conception, only Adam and Eve prior to their fall shared this with Our Blessed Mother. However they both fell, while Our Blessed Mother remains always and forever Immaculate. The following is a brief list of Saints related to Luisa’s life and writings by Him, and I was so touched that I would cry bitterly. One day, while working, I so oppressed by the pain, that I could not breathe. Fearing something, I wanted to distract myself by going out to the balcony. But as I go about looking in the middle of it my loving Jesus with the Cross upon His shoulders. Some pulled Him to one side, some to another. All panting, with His face dripping with blood, He raised His eyes toward me in the act of asking for help. Who can tell the sorrow I felt, and the impression that a scene so pitiful made on my soul.

  • 125 Foundation Anniversary of the Daughters of Divine Zeal to The
Rome, March 1, 2012 Prot N. 28/12 Re.: 125th Foundation Anniversary of the Daughters of Divine Zeal To the Rogationists The Daughters of Divine Zeal The Lay Rogationist Missionaries The Members of the Family of Rogate Dearest, we are living together a Year of the Eucharist in commemoration of the 125th Anniversary of the Feast of July 1, 1886 and in this time of grace, as daughters and sons of Father Hannibal, we are called to remember one of the first fruits of the coming of the Sacramental Jesus in the Pious Work to remain therein: the birth of the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Zeal, which occurred on the eve of the feast of St. Joseph in l887. In view of this event, in these coming days of March 17 to 19 we will be in Messina, and together with our sisters Daughters of Divine Zeal, we shall praise and bless the Lord for the great gift of their presence to the Church and to the world. I would like to commemorate this grace to renew our gratitude to the Lord and to confirm our profound relationship with our sisters who have preceded us in birth, following the footsteps of Father Hannibal in fulfilling the mission of Rogate. Looking back to the events of those years, in the field of apostolate in Avignone Quarters, we meet our holy Founder, who gives himself totally for the redemption and evangelization of the little ones and the poor. Since his first appearance in that field of work, which occurred about ten years earlier, in 1887 many things have changed and, in the place where chaos and the most humiliating degradation reigned, there arise an oasis of peace.

1 di 13 MESSAGGIO del SUPERIORE GENERALE alla PROVINCIA SICULO-NAPOLETANA MESSAGE of the SUPERIOR GENERAL at the End of the PASTORAL VISIT to the PROVINCE OF SICILY AND NAPLES 15-28 September 2016 ‘Our founders and foundresses shared in Jesus’ own compassion when he saw the crowds who were like sheep without a shepherd. Like Jesus, who compassionately spoke his gracious word, healed the sick, gave bread to the hungry and offered his own life in sacrifice, so our founders and foundresses sought in different ways to be the service of all those to whom the Spirit sent them. They did so by their prayers of intercession, their preaching of the Gospel, their works of catechesis, education, their service to the poor and the infirm… The creativity of charity is boundless; it is able to find countless new ways of bringing the newness of the Gospel to every culture and every corner of society… Are our ministries, our works and our presence consonant with what the Spirit asked of our founders and foundresses? Are they suitable for carrying out today, in society and the Church, those same ministries and works? Do we have the same passion for our people, are we close to them to the point of sharing in their joys and sorrows, thus truly understanding their needs and helping to respond to them?’ Apostolic Letter of the Holy Father Francis to all Consecrated People on the Occasion of the Year of Consecrated Life, 28.11.2014, n. 2. ‘Mother Teresa, in all aspects of her life, was a generous dispenser of divine mercy, making herself available for everyone through her welcome and defence of human life, those unborn and those abandoned and discarded….

The Pious Universal Union for the Children of the Divine Will Official Newsletter for “The Pious Universal Union for Children of the Divine Will –USA” Come Supreme Will, down to reign in Your Kingdom on earth and in our hearts! ROGATE! FIAT ! “May the Divine Will always be blessed!” Newsletter No. 134 – July 16, A.D. 2013 Our Lady of Saint Carmel Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as patroness of the Carmelite Order. The first Carmelites were Christian hermits living on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land during the late 12th and early to mid 13th centuries. They built a chapel in the midst of their hermitages which they dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, whom they conceived of in chivalric terms as the "Lady of the place." Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is the patron saint of Chile. Since the 15th century, popular devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel has centered on the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel also known as the Brown Scapular, a sacramental associated with promises of Mary's special aid for the salvation of the devoted wearer. Traditionally, Mary is said to have given the Scapular to an early Carmelite named Saint Simon Stock. The liturgical feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is celebrated on 16 July. 1 The Brown Scapular and The Sabbatine Privilege A magnificent assurance of Salvation is Our Lady's Brown Scapular. One of the great mysteries of our time is that the great majority of Catholics either ignore or have forgotten the Blessed Virgin Mary's promise: "Take this Scapular, it shall be a sign of salvation, a protection in danger and a pledge of peace.

  • 'Genuine Acts of Love,' Bishop Brennan Says
September 3, 2021 Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Vol. 52, No. 36 Getting Vaccinated and Wearing Masks are ‘Genuine Acts of Love,’ Bishop Brennan Says By Colleen Rowan WEST VIRGINIA—“Getting vaccinated and wearing a good mask are genuine acts of love by which we protect our neighbor and our own health,” Bishop Mark E. Brennan said in a video message to the Catholic faithful of West Virginia. “We should do these two things to enhance the health of and safety of our family members, friends, and the most vulner- able.” Bishop Brennan’s message was released on the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston’s social media Aug. 27. He began his message by saying that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rav- age the Mountain State with large increases of the number of persons infected, hospitaliza- tions, and deaths. The bishop encouraged everyone to pray for all those affected by the virus and for an end to the pandemic, and said that all can act boldly in the face of this “mortal threat.” Bishop Brennan emphasized that vaccines are now fully approved and widely available and give substantial protection to those who are vaccinated. Wearing masks in public set- tings and large indoor gatherings, he said, adds further protection. “Some object that vaccinations and wearing masks interfere with their personal freedom. Our freedom is a very limited but real participa- tion in God’s freedom, and like God’s, is meant always to be used to do good,” the bishop said. “I urge you to choose to do good to your neighbor and to yourself by being vaccinated and wearing a protective mask in appropriate settings,” the bishop said.
