PRACTIAL INFORMATION
Border formalities Visitors from most countries do not require a visa for a visit of up to 90 days. For those who do need a visa, they are not available at the border and you must get one in advance from a Diplomatic/Consular Mission of Republic of Montenegro.
Money Official currency in Montenegro is Euro. Please do not bring dinars, denars, leks… because it is almost impossible to change it at anyway. About prices, Montenegro is one of the most expensive countries in region.
Credit cards Some major credit cards (Diners, American Express, Visa and MasterCard/EuroCard) and euro-checks can be used for payments wherever noticed, as a rule in most hotels, shops, and restaurants, but not everywhere
Business hours Business hours in Montenegro are a relative concept. Even if hours are posted on the doors of museums or shops, don’t be surprised if they are not heeded. Banks are usually open from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and until noon Saturday. Shops in busy areas often start at around 8am or 9am and close at a similar time in the evening. Restaurants open at around 8am and close around midnight, while café-bars may stay open until 2am or 3am.
Climate Podgorica has a modified Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cool winters. Although the city is only some 50 km from the Adriatic Sea, an arm of the Mediterranean, and the proximity of the Dinaric Alps to the north alters its climate. The mean annual rainfall is 1,600 mm (63 in). The temperature exceeds 25 °C (77 °F) on about 135 days each year and the median daily temperature is 16.4 °C (61.5 °F). The number of rainy days is about 120, and those with a strong wind around 60. An occasional strong northerly wind influences the climate in the winter, with a wind-chill effect lowering the perceived temperature by a few degrees.
Podgorica is particularly known for its extremely hot summers: temperatures over 40 °C (104 °F) are common in July and August. The highest temperature recorded in Montenegro was 45.8 °C (114.4 °F), on 16 August 2007. Snow is a rare occurrence in Podgorica: it rarely snows more than a few days per year.

By plane
In Montenegro there are 2 International airports: in Podgorica and Tivat: http://www.montenegroairports.com/
Podgorica Airport (LYPG/TDG) is situated 12 km (7.5 miles) south of Podgorica.

Closest airports outside of Montenegro
Belgrade (Serbia) – you can also come to Podgorica via Belgrade by plane as its more cheaper then flying directly to Podgoirca. From Belgrade airport you can tak
train (from Belgrade airprt there are frequent shatles to train station) Ticket costs around 20 euros one way and it drive takes around 8-10 hours. Information on http://w3.srbrail.rs/zsredvoznje/?lang=en. But please check it by phone in any case. Usually there are 2 trains per day. Again plane to Podgorica, usually ticket is 130euros round trip. Duration of flight is around 45min.
Dubrovnik (Croatia) – you can flight to Dubrovnik and then take buses to Podgorica. Its a bit more complicated, because you have just one bus per day that is direct to Podgorica. If you dont catch this bus you need to go to Herceg Novi (city in the border of Croatia and Montenegro) and then to take another bus to Podgorica.
By train Train station is located near the city center: http://www.zcg-prevoz.me/ You have direct train from Belgarde to Podgorica price is around 20euros one way, drive takes around 8-12 hours.
By bus Bus station serves number of domestic destinations, as well as those in neighboring countries. The bus and railway station are located next to each other in Podgorica. It’s a small numbers of buses who are coming directly to Podgorica, so check before you decide to come by bus.
By car Due to its location in central Montenegro, Podgorica is the hub of all main roads in the country. Road from the northern Montenegro and Serbia requires additional caution during the winter.

GETTING AROUND
Walk - Podgorica is a medium-sized city of about 140,000 people. If your accommodation is near the city center, or the "Preko Morače" district - all points of inters could be visited on foot.
Public transport - Public transportation consists of buses, that are not very frequent, and maps of the lines could be hard to locate. Ticket price is between €0.80 per single ride, and can be purchased on board, usually directly from the driver.
Taxi - Probably the best option to move around Podgorica are cheap and reliable taxi service. There are over 20 taxicab companies, which usually operate new air-conditioned European sedans. Taxi stands are virtually everywhere in the city, but they could also be reached by calling the dispatcher.
The fare is between €0.40 and €0.80 per kilometer, and usually no start fare is charged. Considering the size of Podgorica - no drive within the city should cost more than €3 or €4.

Poject venue: Youth exchange will be held in Podgorica, capital of Montenegro as there are not so much things to do. Youth are none supported enough to initiate some activities. Also, older people have basically no activity in general so that's why we want, by activating all generation in one local community promote local society to be more active and to spread this spirit in another communities.
DICTIONARY:
In our language every written letter is pronounced. You should remember this useful rule. It will help you to read nameplates and street signs in the cities, read the following dictionary of the most common and the most necessary words and phrases in our language, but also communicate with local people and find your way to the right address. The pronunciation of particular letters is very close to the German. The letters that are not common in other languages are “š” (pronounced “sh”), “č” (soft “ch”), “ž”(like French “j”) and “đ”(dj) which is often written as “dj” as well.

ACCOMMODATION:

The dormitory is situated near the centre of Podgorica. It takes about 15-20 minutes of walk or 5 minutes of drive to get from the dormitory to the town square.
Participants will be accommodated in 2-3 bed rooms. Every room has toilet, bathroom and shower. 3 meals per day will served in the Student Restaurant which is situated in the building next to the dormitory.
Short description of project:
30 young people from Czech Republic, Macedonia, Montenegro, Estonia, Serbia and Latvia will meet youth and citizens of local community, where neighbors forget to communicate between each other and to be united when its needed, trying to alive some parts of one local community. During challenging and interesting 10 days of sharing, together they will explore what is missing in their neighborhood and, connected with European Year of Volunteering, they will have opportunity to realize voluntary action and create a characteristic dance what will be a symbol of the neighborhood and will remember how citizens and youth can be united and together do what is important for their needs in order to have better quality of life. Active participation of citizens, especially older people will be used as positive value and example how one healthy society can be developed with help of voluntarism. One of the main task will be, as much as it possible, to involve youth with fewer opportunities and with their active involvement to make our dance more victorious. Before implementation, group will get closer with youth and together they will engage their parents and neighbors and, based on the needs of their neighborhood, they will collect ideas, suggestion in the shortest time as it possible and prepare voluntary action what will be visible in whole neighborhood. Group will also record all their steps of preparing and realizing their activities, and short movie will be given to all countries’ participants and to officials of local community. Interactive games and active participation will be used as main method in work with participants in order to support young people to be actively involved in local community development and encourage their friends with fewer opportunities.

During APV meeting leaders agree on following to prepare before coming on youth exchange:
Short movie about expectations of group members; Explore local problems, what are they, what people want to change in their local community; etc Choose few simple steps from national traditional dance and make short movie of it during passing borders. Prepare presentation on low of voluntaries own country, if exist, if not what kind of volunteer program exist in local community;
Specifically for each country group:
For ESTONIAN group - would be welcome someone who know sign language (if possible) – this were agreed on APV; but for now it’s ok if we don’t have it;
CZECH REPUBLIC group – to bring some instruments (welcome for anyone who has from other groups);
For SERBIAN group – more than welcome videos of street activism and attracting local people to join to actions;
For MACEDONIAN group – examples of volunteer actions on local level;
For OUTSIDE bring HAT as we well have part of activity outside and its very warm in that period in Podgorica.
THEMATICS NIGHTS
For intercultural evening bring us some of popular music from your country on CD, so we can organize the intercultural music evening and some of national food, sweets and drinks from your country…anything what you can present from your country and your organization. Don’t forget to bring a flag
First night we will organize CHEESE Festival! Great opportunity to present cheese from your country (hope that it will be in good conditions for others to eat )and to win in some of categories like the best cheese, the best taste of cheese, the best smell of cheese, or the worst smell of cheese …
We all know how for example permiggiano is good, but you probably do not know that Montenegro have unique kajmak, or that in Serbia exist leaf cheese or that Hungarians have cheese with chocolate and so on and so on
