RICHMOND, Va.- The Shocker men’s basketball team defeated VCU, 53-51, on a WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State got 21 points from junior Cleanthony Early en route game-winning jumper from senior guard Malcolm Armstead with 3.8 seconds to defeating Western Carolina, 79-63, in the first game of the Triple Crown Cancun remaining in the game on Tuesday night at the Stuart Siegel Center. Wichita State finished the game 26-of-27 at the free throw line. The Shockers .962 free throw percentage was the sixth best performance in school history and the best since going 17-for-17 on Feb. 11, 2012 at Creighton.

Wichita State continues play in the Triple Crown Cancun Challenge Sat., Nov. 17 when Howard makes the trip to Charles Koch Arena for a 2 p.m. tipoff.
