He then transferred to Minnesota State University and led the Mavericks in assists both years (2001-02 and 2002-03). Budde also finished second in the NCC in assists and assist/turnover ratio.

Budde earned a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2008 and a Bachelor of Sci- ence degree from Minnesota State University in Elementary Education in 2004.
