Intro 1996 National List of Vascular Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands The Fish and Wildlife Service has prepared a National List of Vascular Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands: 1996 National Summary (1996 National List). The 1996 National List is a draft revision of the National List of Plant Species That Occur in Wetlands: 1988 National Summary (Reed 1988) (1988 National List). The 1996 National List is provided to encourage additional public review and comments on the draft regional wetland indicator assignments. The 1996 National List reflects a significant amount of new information that has become available since 1988 on the wetland affinity of vascular plants. This new information has resulted from the extensive use of the 1988 National List in the field by individuals involved in wetland and other resource inventories, wetland identification and delineation, and wetland research. Interim Regional Interagency Review Panel (Regional Panel) changes in indicator status as well as additions and deletions to the 1988 National List were documented in Regional supplements. The National List was originally developed as an appendix to the Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States (Cowardin et al.1979) to aid in the consistent application of this classification system for wetlands in the field.. The 1996 National List also was developed to aid in determining the presence of hydrophytic vegetation in the Clean Water Act Section 404 wetland regulatory program and in the implementation of the swampbuster provisions of the Food Security Act. While not required by law or regulation, the Fish and Wildlife Service is making the 1996 National List available for review and comment. -

Barbed-wire Cactus Cereus tetragonus Also known as: Acanthocereus tetragonus Rating: 0.0 ( 0 votes) This description is for Barbed-wire Cactus (Cereus tetragonus): Barbed-wire Cactus. Surrounding desert prisons for years to come. Arguably, the most common cactus to have on your office desk, never mind at home, Cereus tetragonus is a dwarf and rather tender perennial, usually potted and grown under glass. Its distinctive three or five-sided stem is mid-green in colour with fine, brown spines growing from small white, hairy tufts along its edges, thus earning it its common name, the Barbed-wire Cactus. Numerous smaller stems appear over time, while the nocturnal yellow or pink blossoms are rarely seen. Though suited to pots and containers, it grows happily in gravel beds and rockeries. We will meet in the meeting room next to the gift shop. Rancho Los Alamitos is located within Bixby Hill and accessed through the residential security gate at Anaheim and Palo Verde. From the 405 Freeway, exit at Palo Verde Avenue and turn south. From the 605 Freeway, exit at Willow, follow to Palo Verde and turn south. TIME: Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Setup will be from 12:30 – 1:30. Members will be working in the garden starting at 11 AM. Bring a lunch if you need to. REFRESHMENTS: We will follow the alphabet to determine who is to bring the snacks and finger foods. PLANT-OF-THE-MONTH: Cactus: Echinocactus, Ferocactus, Succulent: Monadenium, Jatropha Descriptions by Scott Bunnell: Echinocactus is a genus of cacti in the subfamily Cactoideae. It and Ferocactus are the two genera of barrel cactus. Members of the genus usually have heavy spination and relatively small flowers. The fruits are copiously woolly, which is one major distinction between Echinocactus and Ferocactus. Propagation is by seed. Perhaps the best known species is the golden barrel (Echinocactus grusonii) from Mexico, an easy-to-grow and widely cultivated plant. -

Abstract Received 03 May 2016 Revised 20 April 2017 In this present study the effectiveness of Acanthocerous tetragonus (AT) as a Accepted coagulant to remove the colour of synthetic textile waste water contains Congo Keywords Red (CR) and Direct Blue (DB) dye was analyzed. Experiments were carried out for initial dye concentration of 100-500 ppm and coagulant dose varies Acanthocerous tetragonus between 1-6ml of AT and 1-6gm of Alum .It was observed that the maximum Coagulation colour removal was attained at 400ppm initial dye concentration and 4ml Congo Red coagulant dose for AT and 6 gm of alum dose. On comparing with the Direct Blue commercial coagulants like alum this novel natural coagulant AT produced less quantity of sludge. The sludge volume index (SVI) of AT and Alum was 30 G.Vijayaraghavan and 45 mL/gm in Direct blue dye solution and 35 and 48 mL/gm for Congo red [email protected] dye solution respectively. Based on the experimental results, it was decided +91 9865220987 that the natural coagulants like AT will be a very effective one, compared to metallic salts like alum. -

ELEUTHERA RESEARCH AND STATISTICS DEPARTMENT MINISTRY OF TOURISM 2010 Eleuthera is located in the eastern region of the Bahamas archipelago. It is east of New Providence. The island of Eleuthera is 110 miles long and two miles wide.1 Eleuthera has a raw beauty that is breathtaking. Like The Exumas, and the Abacos, Eleuthera which consists of Harbour Island (3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide)2, Spanish Wells, Current Island, Windermere Island, Princess Cay, and others is really a chain of islands. The island of Eleuthera was once called “Eleutheria” meaning freedom (Eleutheria came from a Greek word) by the Puritans otherwise known as the Eleutherian Adventurers who settled there in 1648 after their boat hit a reef near the island.3 The Eleutherian Adventurers were Puritans who sought freedom of religion. They were led by Captain William Sayle.4 Eleuthera is not only an island that is rich in history but it is beautiful as well. Eleuthera has many enchantments that have endeared visitors to the islands for years. One of the enchantments of the island is the famous Glass Window Bridge in Gregory Town which has the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the shallow waters of the Bahama Bank on the other side. Eleuthera boasts some of the most beautiful pink sand beaches in the world. It has pristine beaches, aquamarine water, reefs, many shipwrecks, pineapple fields, rolling hills, beautiful cliffs, caves and beautiful coves that are perfect romantic hideaways. Eleuthera has these beautiful cliffs and vistas all along the pristine coastline.
