Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance/Moment of Silence Mayor Moriarty called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call Roll Call: Mayor Sandy Moriarty, Vice Mayor John Martinez, Councilor John Currivan, Councilor Scott Jablow, Councilor Tom Lamkin, Councilor Jon Thompson, Councilor Jessica Williamson. Staff Present: City Manager Justin Clifton, Assistant City Manager Karen Osburn, City Attorney Robert Pickels, Jr., Public Works Director/City Engineer Andy Dickey, Finance Director Cherie Wright, Budget & Accounting Supervisor Jessica Tucker, Chief of Police David McGill, City Clerk Susan Irvine. 3. Special Business a. AB 2396 Public hearing/discussion/possible action regarding approval of a resolution adopting the City of Sedona’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-19. Opened the public hearing at 3:31 p.m. No comments were received. Closed the public hearing and brought back to Council at 3:31 p.m. Questions and comments from Council. Questions answered by Cherie Wright and Justin Clifton. Motion: Vice Mayor Martinez moved to approve Resolution No. 2018-18 adopting the Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 including the budget attachments. Seconded by Councilor Thompson. Vote: Motion carried with six (6) in favor (Moriarty, Martinez, Jablow, Lamkin, Thompson, and Williamson) and one (1) opposed (Currivan). 4. Executive Session Upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Council may hold an Executive Session that is not open to the public for the following purposes: a. Nominations are still being accepted for both the AAS 2017 Professional Archaeologist Award and the 2017 AAS Avocational Award. Welsh Herbarium (BRY), and others obtained on loan from the Northern Arizona University Deaver Herbarium (ASC), the Arizona State University Herbarium (ASU), and the University of Arizona Herbarium (ARIZ), allows for substantial reevaluations of the species in Arizona and for description of 2 previously undescribed species. Pediomelum verdiensis S.L. Welsh and M. Licher is described as a new species from substrate derived from the Tertiary Verde Formation, Verde Valley, north central Arizona. Pediomelum pauperitense S.L. Welsh, M. Licher, and N.D. Atwood is described as a new species from outcrops of Paleozoic limestone near Poverty Mountain, Coconino County, Arizona, north of the Grand Canyon.

Cain’s probing exposes the horrors of the antiquities trade---including the trade in mummified bodies. Norman Beardancer, dynamic spiritual leader of the Ute people and, his wife Regina, work with the tribal elders to recreate the history of the Weminuche Utes. They try to find out who the man found in the shipping crate was. They are opposed by forces that do not want the Ute history told. Doctor Ferner Getts, grandson of an early 20th century grave robber and antiquities trader. A pompous academic who has “edited” historical records to protect major museums and antiquities collectors. George W. Avery, now Advisor to the President for Indian Affairs, his stereotypes and bigotry reflect U.S. policy toward the Ute Tribe. Anasazi Bill, one of Sedona’s ‘underground people,’ has been trying for years to learn who killed his father.
