This ride is being organised jointly with The National Trust at Clumber Park. Idyllic park with amazing scenery and wildlife all nestled amongst the remnants of Clumber's grand past. It has 3,800 acres of green open space with Europe’s longest double avenue of Lime Trees lining the Grand Entrance. A beautiful to place to ride.

The Park can be very popular with other visitors including walkers, cyclists and families, please be courteous and respect everyone’s enjoyment

Terrain Mostly gently rolling to flat. Most of the ride is on tracks through wood, some farmland. Mostly the going is good, forestry tracks/bridleways/grass with some surfaced (crushed stone or red shale tracks). There is very little roadwork. Roads are private/estate roads with minimal traffic and a short stretch on a minor road. There are a couple of road crossings over very quiet road. If the weather has been very wet there may be some muddy areas on route. There is also a ford in Clumber. (5 mile avoids the ford but this is where the photographer will be)

Facilities at Venue Parking area is quite sizeable on grass field with sandy soil. Catering onsite, plus restaurant at visitors centre nearby. Toilet available at venue. Water available at venue. Please note that mobile phone reception in Clumber is not good – variable in certain areas/some networks.

Please take litter home with you and do not muck trailers/boxes out at venue. Please remove all droppings and litter and take home with you otherwise we will not be able to use the venue again.

Checking in When you have parked up, please come to the Secretary. Secretary will be situated near to entrance. Collect your numbered bib and wristbands. Please check notice board for any route changes, hazards or issues you need to be aware of on the day. Ride marking details will also be displayed here.

Starting/Finishing Ride All horses and riders must set off from indicated area passing the timekeeper. Please make sure the timekeeper has noted down your number and time. When returning you must also ensure timekeeper has noted down your return.

Routes There are 3 main distances available to ride, so please be aware of how each route is marked. This will be in the colour shown on the map. Distances are 20, 15 and 5.5 miles (shorter route for lead rein available) Take care to look for markers indicating divergence of routes etc. The route will be well marked, but unfortunately markers do “disappear” sometimes! There is a compulsory walk section in Hardwick Village, Clumber Park. Also please do not ride on the grass verges in the Village.

First Aider: There is no official first aider but there is a first aid kit located with the secretary

Stewards: There will be stewards on route, these are marked as checkpoints on the map. These will be staffed by Raynet volunteers who will have radio communication with the venue. Please make sure they have taken your bib number as you pass. Please follow their instructions when given and report any difficulties on route to them.

Conduct There will be a notice board displaying the Sport Endurance code of conduct and risk assessment. Please follow these rules and hopefully the landowners will be happy to have our events again in the future and the volunteers will be happy to help again.
