The Phoenix decided to get involved and possessed and corrupted Cyclops, the leader of the X-Men who then struck down Professor Xavier. It took all of the Avengers and the X-Men to bring him down. The Phoenix Force was dispersed across earth creating new mutants. They would, of course, rather have these mutants under their roof learning. It goes without saying that in this world the law and others like them want to lock up mutants. Beast, however, has another plan to try to change things. He finds a way to go back in time to when he and Scott were just starting out as X-Men in order to bring back the past Scott to see his future self in order to prevent him from becoming that. Like a Christmas Carol in a weird, yet cool way. Only it all goes awry when all of the X-Men insists on coming too. Back then Jean didn't have her telepathic abilities yet and more importantly, All-New X-Men: Here to Stay still alive. Neither side knows what to make of the other when they arrive back in the present. Jean's psychic powers become suddenly activated and she has to figure out how to use them herself on the fly. Kitty Pryde helps Jean begin to learn how to use her powers and boy does she. Some would say she might be abusing her powers. Kitty also gets the old X-Men and begins to train them in combat. Warren Worthington III meets up with Angel, his adult counterpart and goes on a mission with him which leaves him shell-shocked. Meanwhile, Scott has left the mansion with Wolverine in pursuit. He comes across Mystique who tells him half-truths and sows dissent into his head in order to try to keep the X-Men busy battling themselves so she, Sabertooth, and Lady Mastermind can do what they need to do in peace. When Scott gets All-New X-Men: Here to Stay to the mansion he feels as though he is not the leader of the team, just like Mystique predicted. This stunning book ends on a real cliffhanger that will have you asking "who? Garcia does an amazing job with the color bringing in dark reds for the X-Men and Mystique fight scenes but keeping it light and airy for the scenes with Angel. I really loved this comic even better than the previous one and with that ending, I can't wait to read the next one. The young, time-displaced original X-Men continue to try to find their way in a future world that they have very little capability of understanding. Again, not much happens to move the story along in this volume, it still seems to be more character development. Young Cyclops and Wolverine have an argument nothing new there, future or past ; Mystique starts to undermine young Cyclops' reasoning about what is happening in the world; young Angel finally finds a drastically changed version of his future self and has a hard time coming to grips with anything the future has in store for him; both Angels take on a Hydra cell, and when the Avengers intervene, young Cyclops convinces Captain America to let him try to fix things; Cyclops and his current team of X-Men try to recruit students from the Jean Grey School for his new school. While all of this seems like a lot, it's what goes on in the background that really makes this volume stand out. Jean Grey's telepathic powers are developing at a remarkably early stage for her, which could lead to all sorts of interesting story developments. Young Cyclops All-New X-Men: Here to Stay to discover things about his future with All-New X-Men: Here to Stay Grey. Angel really, really has a hard time understanding what is happening in this future, and why no one else has a problem with what's going on. If anything, I'm anxious to see where the Jean Grey storyline All-New X-Men: Here to Stay going. Seeds are already being planted for her to All- New X-Men: Here to Stay falling to the dark side of her power, with or without the Phoenix. Given that Jean Grey, in all her varied forms, has always been my favorite character, this is all very exciting for me! I'll definitely be keeping up with this series. More character All-New X-Men: Here to Stay, but the story starts to warm up with Jean Grey's dreams and creepy behaviour. Mystique appearance inserts a subplot in the story Claremont alert buzzing!! As I dropped the X-books long ago, some recent stuff in the Mutant Canon are alien for me Angel has metal wings again? How long he has healing powers? Krakoa is the soil in which School is built over? Mastermind has a daughter? How has Kitty Pryde been saved from the Joss Whedon situation sorry, no spoilers here! Is Ororo punk again? The funny thing is that Bendis can work all these things in way that they All-New X-Men: Here to Stay also strange for the time displaced kids and do not affect the book. David Marquez' art is high level! This is All-New X-Men: Here to Stay character development volume that focuses on Jean Grey and young Scott. It wasn't as compelling as the first volume but still interesting. A couple of other storylines also get rolling with Mystique. Here at Walmart. Jean is trying to figure out how to control her new found telepathy, with the help of Kitty. It's going as well as can be expected, under the circumstances. But then Warren has a freak out after spending too much time with the other Angel, and Jean goes a bit too far to calm him down Ok, not that far, but far enough to make everyone a bit nervous. Everyone is o Fun stuff! Everyone is on edge, so when Mystique decides to stick her nose in things everything goes from bad to worse. How much worse? Well, it looks like the New X-men aren't all going to be playing for the same team anymore. Someone is joining Cranky Cyclops' Revolution! Granted, it takes the idea of the present day Scott going all dark side as the younger version of Scott is horrified at what he becomes while resenting the reactions of everyone around him blaming him for something he hasn't done yet so it took a couple of incarnations plus some timey-wimey stuff to get this done. Still, this is the first time that I was ever rooting for Scott to win in a fight All-New X-Men: Here to Stay Wolverine so give this book the credit it deserves. I'm too lazy to reread it so I went ahead and read this anyway. X-Men has been one of my favorites ever since I was young. I've seen every movie and most of the tv series. I was in the X-Men mood so I decided to pick this one up. The story was not that bad, but a bit dragging. There were more talking that actua I read vol. There were more talking that actual action, but the plot development was good. It ended with a cliffhanger, so I will be reading the next volume pretty soon. What I hated most would be the artwork. Almost all of the characters were done poorly, and the most All-New X-Men: Here to Stay garbage was Wolverine. You see, Wolverine is my favortie superhero of all time, so don't expect me to be nice when you present him that way. He looked nothing like the Wolverine I grew up with, excluding the movies. The wolveine from the tv series also looked badass, but this guy was just plain old disgusting. I might not like the series overall if the artwork won't improve. The original X-Men have decided to stay in the present in order to learn if living their lives the way they were was worth it. Here to Stay demonstrates clearly that Beast didn't have much of a plan. He just brought the original X-Men to the future without realizing how much that might change them. This has the standard time travel stuff like Cyclops not understanding why magazines are so expensive. The most unexpected and unplanned aspect of Beast bringing the original X-Men to the future is what it would do to Jean Grey. All the other members of the original team may not like what their future looks like, but at least they all still have one. Jean is changing quickly. All-New X-Men: Here to Stay you bash it, I will ignore your existence. Besides, there's little to no reason to hate this quirky and surprisingly engrossing X-Men title, generally speaking. Bendis has outdone himself with such a kooky concept, and artist Stuart Immonen simply brought the stunning characters to life with his engaging visual work. This second volume collects issues and the first three issues were more of a slow-burn type of narrative when it came to the pacing and delivery, choosing to focus on individual character All-New X-Men: Here to Stay about the teenage Scott, Jean and Warren. The build-up was worth it, though, because the last two issues 9 and 10 rewarded us with scintillating confrontations among the X-Men and Cyclops' radical extremists group composed of Magneto, Emma Frost and Magik. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's first talk about the early issues. Now issues 6 and 7 were illustrated by guest artist David Marquez and I enjoyed the composition of his characters' facial expressions, considering the emotional high-point moments these issues touched upon. For issue 6, Jean struggles to overcome her telepathic powers and to properly utilize them with the help of Kitty Pryde, while Scott decided to run off for a while and steal Logan's bike as he wandered aimlessly around the city. Elsewhere, perched in one of the skyscrapers was young Warren, calmly having his spotlight to inner-monologue when he gets humorously interrupted by Scott driving off in All-New X-Men: Here to Stay stolen bike, and the ground forming a face and burping Krakoa? Then, he meets the Warren of that timeline, all metal-winged, Legolas-blond-toting who was far too accepting of him which made Warren readily suspicious, but he followed him anyway as they fly off to spend some time together. It's a simplistic issue with a dash of humor in between which I appreciated. Logan babysitting a young Scott is funny as hell. Issue 7 was unforgettable All-New X-Men: Here to Stay of how it somewhat absolved young Scott's predicament. All-New X-Men: Here to Stay, unaccepted and extremely on edge, Scott only wanted to talk to somebody about what he is going through and the only adult who tried to have an honest conversation with him is no other than Mystique. Disguised as Wolverine at first, Mystique picked up young Scott from the bank and then they had a heart-to-heart talk in a park where she tried to explain and contextualize things to him properly. The first volume of this series was fantastic; the art looks great, the writing is spot on, and there's a lot of interesting fights and tension and dialogue, pulling together a lot of aspects that All-New X-Men: Here to Stay a great series. This feels more like the slow progression that leads to those things, but without some of the reward that often comes with it. This book is big on character progression, which I like a lot, but it feels somewhat forced in this atmosphere.
