RELEASED: Friday, January 15, 2016 Jack Irish series world premiere After three successful telemovies, Jack Irish returns in an expanded six-part series and kicks off ABC TV’s Thursday nights’ season of home-made drama on Thursday, February 11 at 8.30pm. The all-star cast is led by Emmy Award-winner Guy Pearce and includes Jack Irish regulars Marta Dusseldorp, Aaron Pedersen, Roy Billing, Shane Jacobson and Deborah Mailman, with Claudia Karvan, Marcus Graham and Brooke Satchwell. In this thrilling series, Jack is engaged to find a missing person, Wayne Dilthey only to be later framed for his murder. An alibi turns up out of the blue – an alluring but unnerving sculptor by the name of Sarah Longmore who is searching for her missing sister Tina. And if all this isn’t weird enough, the only witness to Dilthey’s murder has taken off with Jack’s beloved Studebaker. Jack is quickly caught up in a complex web of powerful vested interests that stretches from his home town turf of Fitzroy to a remote village in Mindanao, Philippines, where his on-again-off-again girlfriend Linda Hillier becomes central to resolving the conspiracy. She and Jack have instant chemistry, but she refuses to tell him anything that may break doctor/patient confidentiality and Jack notes a wedding ring on her finger. Rory looks into the details of Lakshmi’s autopsy and finds out the body was shipped back to India. When Jack discovers that Lakshmi’s father, Ajeet (Sachin Joab), is in Melbourne to find out what happened to his daughter’s remains, he realises Lakshmi’s body never made it home to India. As he considers this, Jack springs a burglar in his courtyard, only to realise that it’s Charlie Taub’s granddaughter, Gus (Tiarnie Coupland). Suspecting that she may be struggling, Jack tells her she’s welcome to stay any time, an offer met with derision from the damaged teenager. Jack receives a cryptic message that tells him to meet at a restaurant later that day. Cautious, Jack enlists the help of hapless hitman, Brendan O’Grady (Bob Franklin), as back up. When Jack shows up at the restaurant, Brendan isn’t there and Jack is joined by a man who has clearly been sleeping rough. Friends of the ABC Tasmania Submission to the Senate Environment and Communications Legislation Committee: Inquiry into The ABC Amendment (Local Content) Bill 2014 Friends of the ABC Tasmania present this submission to highlight our key concerns about the failure of ABC Management and Board to meet its obligations to the Australian public as the national broadcaster. Furthermore we wish to record that the Federal Government has a responsibility to ensure that the ABC is financially viable in order to maintain its role as the national broadcaster. Recent statements by ABC Managing Director Mark Scott announcing specific reduction in ABC services has alarmed FABC Tasmania We are concerned that management has unilaterally declared these cutbacks that were automatically endorsed by the ABC Board without any public consultation. It should not be necessary to remind ABC Management and Board that they are ultimately responsible to the taxpayers of Australia and therefore in decision making involving an estimated 8-10 % budget loss there should have been some public process for indicating how to manage this financial situation on an equitable basis across the organization. There should be transparency in revealing how budget savings could be made if an 8-10% cut was made to all areas of the organization. Instead it appears that ABC Management has decided to waste money on a consultancy firm that will decide how staff will be chosen for redundancy. Yet ABC Management has already selected the programs and services to be arbitrarily suspended without any back up information to justify decisions. For example there was no financial rationale given when announcing the end of statewide regional current affairs.

Pursuant to the Senate Order for entity contracts, the following table sets out contracts entered into by Screen Australia, which provide for a consideration to the value of $100,000 or more (GST Inclusive) and which: a.
