It was always emphasised that this was a personality questionnaire, not a personality test. We all have a personality (test). What we wanted to find out was what similarity a candidate's personality bore to Mother Theresa's or Attila the Hun's (questionnaire). Administering the questionnaire was easy œ I would sit the candidate down at a computer, and in due course they would tell me they had answered the hundred or so questions about themselves. I would then press a few keys and the computer would produce a multi-page report telling me what the candidate had revealed about themselves in their answers to the questions. The report, of course, wasn't Black Magic. Like many computer programs, it relied on a bank of standard phrases which it would combine in different sequences to give a personalised report.

Streatley & Goring High Streets & Bridge closure Parts of Streatley and Goring High Streets will be closed on Sunday 31 May 2020, from 10am onwards, (expected to be completed by early evening). The closure will be from the junction with Church Lane, to the junction (across the bridge) with Thames Road (opposite Goring Village Hall) Thames Water has applied for a complete closure, athough in the event traffic lights may be in operation. The alternative route for all vehicles affected is via A329, High St (Pangbourne), Whitchurch Rd (B471), B4526 (toward Goring), and vice versa. This is an emergency closure so Thames Water can carry out repairs to a visible leak and to reinstate the carriageway surface. Residential access will be maintained throughout and the diversion will be signed on site. All enquiries should be directed to: KCD on 0800 316 9800. Housing Need Questionnaire 31 Report Summary Housing Need in Hungerford This survey was conducted at the request of the Town Council in response to concerns raised during the Hungerford 2010 consultation about the need for affordable housing for local people in Hungerford. The survey was commissioned in order to identify whether there is any actual need for affordable housing in Hungerford. A brief summary of the findings follows. Survey forms were distributed to all households in Hungerford and there was a 28.7% return This represents an excellent rate of return for such a large community. From the responses the following can be determined: • There is a high level of support for developing a scheme of affordable housing to meet local need (over 70% of responses). • 107 respondents completed Part 2 of the Survey indicating some level of housing need • Of these 65 represent affordable housing need (8.7% of response). • The need is mostly for smaller 1 bedroom properties, but there is a significant need for 2 and 3 bedroom properties as well. Flexibility in design to accommodate growing families is essential. • A large number of potential sites for development have been identified. Some of these would not be acceptable in planning terms. • Any potential development must take into consideration the Hungerford 2010+ Town Plan recommendations.
