Dopo le prime due prove, disputate ieri, l?equipaggio azzurro composto da due atleti imperiesi è al terzo posto, a soli due punti dai leader. Oggi, con inizio alle ore 13, altre due prove. Nella classe Star brillante 3° posto per Diego Negri e Luigi Viale, grazie al 4° posto nella prima manche, migliorato con un 2° nella prova successiva. Da notare che nella prima regata gli azzurri delle Fiamme Gialle erano secondi a 200 metri dall?arrivo, ma hanno dovuto eseguire una penalità durante il lato di poppa per intervento della Giuria (bandiera gialla per ?pompaggio?; vale come una ammonizione e va evitata una seconda bandiera gialla nel corso del campionato), scivolando al 4°. La Star è divisa in due flotte che corrono col sistema delle batterie. Al comando della classifica i francesi Xavier Rohart-Pascal Rambeau (3-1), davanti ai campioni mondiali in carica i neozelandesi Hamish Pepper-Carl Williams (3-1), e dagli azzurri Negri-Viale (4-2) che sono appaiati ai fuoriclasse brasiliani Robert Scheidt-Bruno Prada (2-4). Al 5° posto l?ex timoniere di +39 Challenge l?inglese Iain Percy?Andrew Simpson (1-8) con l?ex iridato e oro olimpico il polacco Mateusz Kusznierevicz-Dominik-Zycki.

I will start with an exciting outlook in the near future: in less than 6 months we will sail our World Championship 2020 in Nassau/Bahamas from February 3rd-8th. Montagu Bay is one of the best sailing venues in the world: whoever was sailing here before, will come back again and everybody else should enter this fantastic event as well! Beside the sailing, Nassau Yacht Club will organize great social events fur us. Check out the program on our preliminary website, which will be updated continually. One month later in March 2020, Star sailors are invited to sail the prestigious Bacardi Cup in Miami, so don’t miss the chance to sail these two regattas in the worlds best sailing venues in a row. Looking back this season, we sailed our World Championship in Porto Cervo/Italy and are very proud to celebrate the new World Champions 2019 Mateusz Kusznierewicz and Bruno Prada, who won with all kind of wind conditions. Vice world champions are Augie Diaz with Henry Boening ahead of Eivind Melleby/Joshua Revkin.     Commodore Hub E. Isaacks Trophy Emblematic of: World Championship of SCIRA. Held every two years in the odd numbered years. Donated by: Dr. Hub E. Isaacs, first Commodore of SCIRA. Owned by: SCIRA Awarded to: The fleet of the winning skipper. Open to: 1. Skipper and crew must be SCIRA members in good standing with their fleet, country, and the Association, and sailing a Snipe registered to SCIRA for the current year. In case of chartered or loaned boat the skipper may use the sail number of his/her own boat and both boats shall be registered to SCIRA for the current year. 2. All skippers must be citizens, or bonafide residents for at least one year, of the country they represent and each must present credentials signed by his National Secretary attesting that he is the entrant. 3. The following formula shall be used. Registered Boats means number of properly registered boat owners submitted to the SCIRA office by each National Secretary on the dues paid members for that year. Information must include: name, address, fleet number and hull number to which the member has paid dues upon. Average Number of Registered Boats for the past 2 years Entries 1-5 1 6-15 2 16-30 3 31-50 4 51-100 5 101-200 6 201-300 7 300+ 8 4. Additional Entries: World Champion European Champion Western Hemisphere & Orient Champion Women’s World Champion First and second place in the Junior World Championship will qualify for the senior worlds in a succeeding year. 5. Any former Isaacs World Champion skipper has an automatic entry to the championship that is not included in their home country’s quota.
